What Lego set did you buy today?

Featured Replies

I've got one good from 8/1-8/31. I just took a closer look at it and it's for my "anniversary" of being a card member. It's account specific. I must have signed up last August. Senior day is only the first Wednesday of every month, not every wednesday unfortunately.

Gotcha.

Wow. This might be one of the craziest deals I ever found. I just left Savers (a goodwill type store). Found a big bag of Legos marked $9.99. I had a 30% off coupon, so I paid $7. I wasn't sure what w

Interesting day today. Started out at shopko and picked up 4 friends light house sets for $20.31 each after tax by using the clearance price, additional 10% off clearance sale, and $10 off $50 coupon. This set is unique, unlike all of the cafes and pet themed sets from this line, which is why I bought them. Part of me said "what little girl is going to want to play with a light house?" but at over 50% off I couldn't pass. If nothing else I'll pair them with a dolphin cruiser and sell as a combo.

Then I scored a local Craig's deal. All new and sealed 4867 Hogwarts, a 4738 hagrid's hut, a 4714 gringotts bank, and a 3222 helicopter and limousine for $200. Should easily double if not a little more on these. Also picked up a few more mystery machines at retail. It was a good day.

Got in on the Deep Sea Explorer from Amazon UK x3

It is a nice looking set. But I still cannot see how to display the set and play with it. Maybe take it in the bath tub?

At my local TRU there is an awesome display for this theme.

I just bought one Deep Sea Explorer for now.  I think the 60096 - Deep Sea Operation Base will be the rarer of the two.  It was released later and is the TRU Exclusive.  The ship will be available everywhere, although it will be the most desirable.  For flipping It doesn't have the rarity factor that the Icebreaker had, since it was only available at S@H and TRU.  It may still be a good flip, but there will be many more available initially.

Best tru purchase I have ever made! Close tie with the mf I found at target yesterday, but it cost considerably more.

I think you misunderstood.... if you think it's a good enough investment to have 100 of them, and if you have the money to buy these then why wouldn't you? If you're looking for someone around here to say buy-buy-buy I don't think you're going to get it. What I think you're going to get is... do it if it feels right.

Target was mackin that one

phone seems to save old posts that i replied to on pc. Annoying.  Doesnt show until after i post

Used my Rockefeller Center sale to buy an Imperial Hotel on eBay, NIB, for $80 shipped. So with creative math, the hotel only cost me $39.15 and the time to hold and ship the Rockefeller Center.  I look forward to building this one :)

I bought a dictectives office as my first modular that I will build! (Got a couple of others but just won't build them yet).

I don't spend much time checking CL for deals but I was tipped off to a Hogwarts Castle 4842 open box but all bags still sealed. Only thing missing was instruction booklet 1 & 2 and the sticker sheet. Picked it up for $60.

I plan to get the stickers and instructions to complete it...my question, if I buy instructions from another country on bricklink will they be identical to those that came with the set in the US? I assume so since I see alternate languages in instructions from other sets I have but want to confirm since I haven't bought a set from non-native English speaking countries.

Picked up an Ultra Agents mission hq ship and plan on getting more after reading about Lego discontinuing the line with this one out only a few short months.

New & sealed 4840 The Burrow and 7195 Ambush in Cairo for $100 total. Local craigs buy from the same lady I bought the new/sealed 4867, 4714, 3222, & 4738 from yesterday. I told her to contact me if she had anymore sets and this morning I received a text from her for these two. The condition of her house gave me the impression that she was a hoarder and would purchase things just because they were on sale. I hope she finds more. She has my number. Maybe she has a 10179 buried somewhere in her basement.

Is "hoarder condition" something we should take note of?

I guess I shouldn't judge, since we are all "hoarders" to a degree. The difference is that we hoard plastic treasure as compared to the huge mountains of junk and clearance fodder that I witnessed over the past two days. It was quite a sight to behold, but I'm not complaining one bit...lol.

2 60095-1: Deep Sea Exploration Vessel each 72 € at real.de
3 10622: Duplo Large Creative Box each 33 € also at real.de

Just bought a ToO for 230 euro. My wife insisted to buy it. She has been right several times before. So I'd better listen. Now doubting to pick up the last one they had.

Somehow got the feeling it is not so much hoarded as others.

I like the set. Its diferent and that can get some eyes on it. I wouldnt mind having 2 or 3 to sell down the road

Yes, it is a nice set.

For me it is and was not easy to swallow the 230 euro buy-in. Especially cause I bought the first two at the retail price of 200 euro at SaH Germany. But at the end of its lifespan it might even turn out not to be so bad.

Now wait and see how it will perform. It is not a set I would like to keep for my personal collection. So I can easily sell them later on.

If it does not become a success my wife has to make it up to me. :D

I was surprised to see my local Lego store had a Pet Shop so I grabbed it.  Been probably 3 or more months since I've seen one in person there.  Then used $10 reward to order 3 mystery machines online slightly cheaper (free sh) plus a free pirates set along with em.  all in all happy with that.
