Well my two VC arrived today from TRU Ebay store. They came in a Lego sealed case all nice and pristine. I'm very happy. Also received my Daily Bugle from WM plus I price matched at TRU a 6869 QuinJet from WM then used my $15 rewards and my $10 gift card before they expire tomorrow. I was also able to pick up another Robie House from B@****** using my 30% off kids coupon again. That makes 3 I've bought for @ $133. I then used my 15% off coupon on their last Weathertop. So far the lady isn't on to me.

 

I tried to use my Kids Club to buy the Robie House at B&******, but it didn't happen.  There was one at a store located about 50 miles from me, but I was going to be in the area anyway.  So, I reserved it online.  About 10 minutes later, I get a call from CS at B&****** for that store.  She was fantastically nice.  She immediately asked if I had a coupon I was going to try to use.  I said, "yes, kids club" and she said "sorry, none of the coupons work for it.  I wanted to let you know before you drove over here."  Asked if I still wanted it (and I said no), and on our way we went.

Found that one at a Mom & Pop toy store in a mall.  It was their last two.  They were having a "20% off LEGO" sale, but of course, the product was all marked up about 20% over MSRP.  So, I ended up saving 4% on the product.  But, the boxes are perfect, and it's a retired set.  Couldn't pass it up.  (Of course, a few minutes later, I was at TRU, and saw one left on the shelf for $64, which I passed on as quickly as I could).

Per BN.com the robie house is kids club eligible. Here is what you do, you go to the store, grab the cheapest toy them have- or an emerald express- take it along with the robie and have them scan/input the coupon. I guarantee you the discount will come off the robie set. Bam!!

I have found that it has more to do with individual stores than it does corporate policy. Yes the kids club works on Lego, but not on all of it. Some stores will do it, some won't. When the cashier and store manager say no on the coupon what can you do about it? Argue at the register? Turn them in to their superiors? If a store decides that they will not accept a coupon scream all you want but it ain't happening. Retail workers have enough crap to deal with without resellers or collectors raising hell about a coupon policy so they can get a lower cost basis. And honestly how many members on this site have used that coupon 5,10,20 or more times? That is why the policy is tightening up, constant abuse.

Sorry, just been on the other side of the register a bit too long. Funny there is a B&****** near me with an R2 and a Death Star that have been on the floor since before Christmas, they will not take any coupon for either. And I know I'm not the only one who has tried.

Decided to go a town over and check out their Targets and Walmarts.  Not a great trip but I did pick up 3 (6862) Superman Vs Power Armor Lex for $15 at walmart and found 1 (79108) Stagecoach Escape at Target.  They pm their online price of $19.99 for me.

Just got back from the local Target.  Picked up 5 (70503) Ninjago Golden Dragons.  They did the pm to their website but told me there was a limit on the pm's.  I told the lady it was for my nephew's birthday party (he is 31, so I feel a bit dirty) so she okayed the 5.  Not sure if it's a general rule or just that target but I got them for $17.99. Glad they had them since they were raided online.

An hour or so ago i stopped into the local TRU and asked if they'd pricematch the lego shop, they said yes surprisingly so I bought two funhouse escapes and two vampyre castles, total $94

The TRU in my area won't PM Lego store because its out of sold online. I try to argue that I am not buying online but buying it at the store So online being out of stoxk doesnt necessary mean that store level will be out of stock... but they didnt want to listen.

Oh well....

Found 2 Mines of Moria at a local Walmart , just for kicks i tried to see if they would PM Shop@home's price of $50 (Canadian). Surprisingly they did, there are a few other Walmart's in the area with MOM stock still, going to try my luck at those sometime next week.

5 grand emporiums, 5 death stars, 5 super star destroyerz, 5 tower bridge. I am just about done on my allocations for these. Decided to just bust it out and get them purchased. Once i have these allocations hopefully the local stores will be clearancing the non exclusove stuff so i can pick up the ones i need. Everything else coming out this year will not be bought for at least 18 months.

Today: a 7498 Police Station at BN for 75.56 (20% off coupon, 10% member discount), and this week at WM three 79003 UXGs for 49.00 (I finally gave up waiting for these to go to lower, and the stock had gone from 12 or so a few months ago, to six a few weeks ago, to these last three), a 6873 Doc Ock for 29.97, a 3184 Friends Camper for 34.97, and two 3063 Flying Clubs for 19.97.  Those last four are at MSRP, however if you can't find the deals you love, love the deals you find.

You could save a little on the flying clubs by ordering online and picking up in the store.  They are $15 online.

Bought a Medieval Marketplace from CL. Seller was a fellow investor and AFOL with kids like me.

Box was sealed and looked great. But this is for a build.

After my eBay debacle earlier this week, glad to have this for only $10 more.
