January 14, 20214 yr $119.99 eachCongrats for showing restraint! I would have found it very difficult not to be at least a little snarky.
January 14, 20214 yr On my way home from WM shopping I picked up a used "complete" 7739 Coast Guard Patrol Boat And Tower for $5 off CL. Looks like all the pieces are there and it's clean.
January 15, 20214 yr Picked up 2 Slave 1 sets 75243 at LEGO.com. W/Free skate rink. Back ordered Diagonal Alley 75978 W/ free monster book.

January 15, 20214 yr It was all they had, it was in good shape so it was probably found somewhere, very random find. The target however was full of the HP and City calendars all at full price 🙄
January 15, 20214 yr Bought the big Monkie Kid sets in store for 20% off. Not seen anywhere the series is retiring and of course it’s LEGO exclusive online and shop only. Wondering if this theme could be surprise retirement.
January 15, 20214 yr Stopped by the local Lego store to grab some more HP Moments Books. They still have Vintage Car and Monster Book GWPs. Moreover, the store received a huge restock. Razor Crests, Modulars, Disney, Lantern Festival, Tree House, Haunted House, Rollercoaster, etc.
January 17, 20214 yr Bought in recent weeks: Turbo Tank (most recent I believe) NISB (some shelf wear) $150 (Offerup)...good price, not a steal or anything, but local and I avoided 8.5% sales tax and shipping costs. Chinese New Years Eve's Dinner NISB (nice box) $220 (CL)...I'm high on Asian sets, I think it's slow but trending up and eventually (2-3 years) the earlier ones will likely be sought after. Should note i originally sold mine that I got for $150 for $225...I suck at re-selling. Ninjago Destiny's Bounty (the big one w two headed dragon) NISB (shelf wear) $160 (Offerup): just an amazing price (original RRP).

January 21, 20214 yr Scrolling through WM's site last week I saw a 60183 for 23.99. The bottom front edge is scuffed but I'm just shocked it shipped and happy it was packed well.
January 21, 20214 yr Popular Post I've had a great 'beat the system' moment today. I have a used copy of 7676 Republic Gunship in which the skirt for the Asajj Ventress minifigure has been cut and so needs replacing. The cost of the skirt on Bricklink is crazy high, with the cheapest UK price being £18 (while the entire figure can be purchased for ~ £14 plus shipping - not sure why this is lower). Bricklink will tell you that this skirt is only to be found on this figure, either from 7676 or some Comic-Con exclusive. However, I noticed that Asajj Ventress keychains were available for far less, and that these have the skirt on them. I decided to take a risk, and bought one of these keychains for about £3 plus postage. In theory these keychain figures can't be dismantled, but in practice they dismantle quite easily when they are crushed in a vise (so long as you don't want the parts!). I crushed the innocent figure, and can happily report that the skirt survived intact, and was not irreversibly kraggled to either the torso or legs. I have another 7676 where the skirt isn't missing, so I've checked and the skirt is definitely the right part. Saved myself more than £10 there for a single part. Small win, but feels good.
January 22, 20214 yr Rinse and repeat. No brainer at 20% off. Edited January 22, 20214 yr by eliminator
January 22, 20214 yr These just showed up. Ordered off bricklink from Honk Kong almost 2 months ago. $80 shipped for the pair.
January 22, 20214 yr So this is interesting: Stopped down to local LEGO Store today, I hadn't been in a week and a half or so. As others pointed out, they had done a pretty full restock - Toy Story 4 Sets, Hidden Side Sets, Lion Dance, etc all 20% off. I grabbed a T1. That's not the interesting part - They are doing the free Polybag promo - One of the managers who I have a good rapport with, told me that they are only allowing one free item per VIP account. Usually she lets me double or triple dip (assuming I spend the appropriate amount for multiples), but she said they actually have to scan these in with one's account, etc - and actually enter the promo code IN STORE as well. She said they didn't get that many, and they are being strict about it. She's calling it an "experiment" from corporate, but she made it sound like the plan is to limit Promos to one per VIP account. Interestingly, looking at the language on the website, for the Skating rink, it says "One per customer". For the Polybag thing, it says one per HOUSEHOLD AND One per Customer, which is odd too - and of course, this is using a promo code. Maybe it's the Promo Code thing that's going to tie it to one's VIP account? It sounds like this may be the direction they may try to go going forward, limited promos by having them tied to a VIP account and the code can only be used once per account? No idea. I haven't placed an order online to see what the situation is. But this is the first time they ever sounded strict about the one per customer promo thing in store.

When I went Wednesday the manager scanned a card for the poly promos not the actual Polybag and I was surprised I got multiples, one of each, on the same transaction so it isn’t register limited. Then I got another fire copter on the next transaction same VIP account. I only placed one order online for the triple promo stack so do see what you are saying.

My local store has been very generous throughout the pandemic. I triple stacked GWPs in store today and the staff are well aware that I have loads of these already.
