Fred Meyer. If you do some reading through the forums, then you will find that some retailers release product in advance of their street date.

I think I'd much rather have a Fred Meyer opening than a stupid Chik-fil-a

This thread serves multiple purposes, I see the daily deal as where to buy lego, and this thread is more so as a seller you know what other sellers buy in is. I posted earlier in the week that Fred Meyer had 20% off Lego (still do as of today), was able to snag prerelease sets 20% off. For all the threads of "if you like making $5 a set" one doesn't always know other sellers buy in

Tumbler, Slave, and Simps house for $439.60 shipped. I'm set on Cows and EV so getting started on some newer stuff.

My declaration of no more buying this year lasted two whole days. Stupid target code...

I found 30 of the hulk poly on the shelf but alas a manager nixed it and only would let me buy three. Also got 3 c-3po poly. 

I found 15 of the Hulk poly on the shelf but they rang up street dated for 12/6 so they pulled them all until then and wouldn't let me buy any.  Oh well, I still found a couple things worth my trip to TRU today but nothing LEGO related.

Bought a pop star tour bus for net oop $37+ tax yesterday. Today I got my LEGO Shop at Home order from Sat. Inside was a tour bus I had bought at full price. Doh! I guess I'll be at the Lego Store swapping for some new Frozen sets on Tuesday.

I found 20 more of the hulk poly at a diff store. This time no luck at a sale but they are holding them for me on the 6th. 

 

The score was 242!!! C-3po polys

Free advice (worth what you paid for it):  Most sets at the Lego store can be found cheaper at other retailers and the real reasons for shopping at a physical store are exclusives, advance sales, and promotions such as: buy a keychain, get a free polybag!.  The Lego Store does not offer regular 20% off deals (or better) and almost every regularly available set will see at least a 20% discount during its shelf life.

Amazon, Target, Walmart, and TRU (if you live near one) and great options and then there are regional chains as well such as Meijer's.

Some exceptions to this idea include hard to find sets (Jurassic World) and store exclusives (eg. Target exclusives)

From a resale standpoint - one set from Amazon means 1 pre-packaged set ready for sale, just take pictures of it and tape it back up. One set from Target means 1LB of air bubbles for future use, etc. etc.

Thanks for the advice. I only buy from the Lego store when there's a promo or 2x VIP. I bought tour bus for my daughter + $40 set to get GH. Got suckered into buying Big Bang in July(?), but want to swap it for Frozen. Lego store is kind enough to let me do a no receipt return because I took too long. "I ain't a player. I just crush a lot."

Don't think I can get enough ROI to justify seriously investing. So I'm holding xmas 2015 + 2014 with promos to sell later.

Didn't buy 'em, but found two more Christmas Train 40138 while at the storage unit tonight picking today's orders. Realized I was holding on to too many for the personal collection. Relisted on eBay and BrickClassifieds tonight.

 

So that was a nice little surprise on an already good day for me, sales-wise

picked up a service truck and tree poly at target for $19.  seems the free poly is based on regular price ($24.99+).

Did you actually buy 242 polys? My TRU also had a TON of C-3PO polys out in a dump bin. I was so tempted to buy more but I already bought 25 over the last two weeks. Not sure if I want to go too deep on these. 

I bought 9 Christmas Tree polybags from Target. $3.49 a piece.
