Wow. This might be one of the craziest deals I ever found. I just left Savers (a goodwill type store). Found a big bag of Legos marked $9.99. I had a 30% off coupon, so I paid $7. I wasn't sure what w

Everyone remember this set I bought of off Goodwill couple weeks back?  A couple of you ask how it went.  It finally arrived today.

Oh, Huskers...you may be more right than you know.

So, guess what happened?  They sent the wrong order.

Here's my auction (35 lbs)

And here an auction for 31 lbs that ended at the exact same time.

If you look over the bid history, you can see the guy who won the 31 lbs bid on my auction, too.  He may be well aware what might be in my lot.  So, now it's a waiting game.  What will Goodwill say?  (I fired off an email tonight).  Will the other guy realize the mistake, and be honest, and do a swap (at their cost, of course)?  Or, will he conveniently be quiet on the subject?

I've got to admit the lot he got is pretty darn good.  I sorted through it tonight (with some help from California92563) - next time I'm live streaming it on Periscope for all of you.  We found a few Indiana Jones sets, Egypt, old Adventurers, Mars Mission, Alpha Team, 90s Underwater, old Harry Potter.  It's definitely a "win" of a lot!  Fantastic deal for $111 for 31 lbs of bulk.

I'll keep everyone updated...

how much do you pay for shipping on something that heavy?  their shipping quotes are always outrageous!

$35 to ship. You definitely have to figure shipping cost into your buy in.

UPDATE:  Goodwill called.  The package hasn't made it to the other buyer yet.  They say they can't recall it (they shipped via FedEx).  Whatever.  Bottom line is that they've reached out to the other buyer, explained they've sent the wrong package, and now I'm in a holding pattern.

They told me if they can't get the package back, then they will let me keep the one I got and refund me something.  We'll see how that goes.  (If I do have to keep this one for $111 - his buy-in - I will, but I would have loved to have gotten the Market Street lot).

When you were giving the story reveal on the last page, I thought you were going to conclude with the mixup that Market Street had been split between the two bulk lots. Both sold same time, both from goodwill, both bulk lego bins.... have you gone through the MS inventory sheet and verified none of the key parts are in your current (his won) lot? Maybe it was originally a 65lb lot and they split it in half... it crossed my mind anyway, might be worth checking into if you haven't done already!

So I just made my first "pure" investment purchase it's 17-20 lbs. Of bulk for $143.50 shipped on eBay And from what I've seen I see the latest Harry Potter castle, hogwarts express, knight bus, Hagrids hut, freeing Dolby, possibly the smaller hogwarts castle add on, dumbledoors office, Loki's helicarrier breakout, that giant rare baseplate, possibly some clear bricks ( I don't know if they're real or fake) and whatever other mysteries lie in there :) . I saw a lot of minifigures and minifigure parts so I'm sure it's a winner, I can't wait to see how much money I make once everything is said and done :money:

I thought that too.  I checked out the MS inventory, and it's definitely not in the lot that I received.

Creator bike shop $30

Ice bites claw driller for sons bday $25

And four utapau troopers $5 each. Was walking down the lego aisle at WM as the lady was making new markdowns. Felt I had to make conversation with her since I was looking over her shoulder. They also had hero factory sets for $5 each.

13 Joker bumper cars.  TRU I frequent had maybe 30 left in stock.  after points and gc discounts it works out to just under $3 each.  this store will not let you use gc and TRUTH anymore so best deal I could get.

I bought a 10030 for $450 on ebay (apparently distressed box but sealed bags) yesterday.  It has shipped but keeping fingers crossed that its legitimate as there was no pictures of whats inside the box.

My apologies if this is someone here, but I see this listing often and would like some other opinions.  Are the pictures a tad misleading compared to the description?

This seller bricklinks sets and sells them on ebay, he/she does the same with Market Street and Cafe Corner by substituting out the expensive, rare pieces for more common ones.

I understand, but the pictures show the grey boat masts, radar dish, etc. as they should be.  Why not use pictures of the actual item?

Glad they are sold out.  Target had these on clearance a few months back for $9.98.  Glad I bought 3.

It's a popular little set and it looks like the predecessor did well before this one came along.

I just picked up a complete used Vikings chess set for $65.  Good deal?  It was the last set I needed to complete my viking collection.
