Retiring Soon - open speculation

To continue an earlier thread, here are the sets listed on S@H as "Retiring Soon":

Friends - Stephanie's Cool Convertible, Olivia's Speedboat, Mia's Bedroom, Series 1 foil packs

Duplo - Train Starter Set, Doctor's Clinic, Emergency Helicopter

Creator - Apple Tree House

Lego Games - Ninjago, Pirate Plank

Chima Speedorz - CHI Battles, Ring of Fire, Target Practice, CHI Waterfall

Technic - Mini Container Truck

LOTR - Gandalf Arrives, Orc Forge

CMF - Series 9

Architecture - Sugnyemun

Marvel Super Heroes - Captain America's Avenging Cycle

Star Wars - Endor Rebel Trooper and Imperial Trooper Battle Pack, Planet Bespin & Twin Cloud Car, Planet Endor & AT-ST

Nothing earth-shattering.  Orc Forge surprises me the most.

  • Here you go. Are likes important? ^^ Anyway, I find it interesting that the City Vulcan sets are also seem to be done. They are from last year, so they are not really that old. Did a pretty good

  • I'm feeling generous and seems Cladner and Val-E are working to hard at this,  might as well simplify their jobs for the holidays.  Plus some of these need to disappear quicker... 10815

  • Chris, I think you're coming in at a time where the LEGO reselling party is coming to an end. I'm not saying there is no more money to be made; what I'm saying is that the ship is full and the general

@GhostDad I just don't see Town hall going to 2016. I'm betting two new modulars in 2015. One at the beginning one at the end

Chatton's anti razor.

Speedorz duel?

Pikachu!!!

Oh, wait, wrong show...

Don't forget Epicurus' little tissue paper wads that cover the cuts.

Yep. I have those right next to Aristotle's aftershave.

The simplest answer may be the best in this case instead of the far-fetched speculations about incoming products.

A good source told me there will be a new Falcon arriving next year, so out with the old and in with the new is the simplest reason I know to retire the 7965.

Here's to hoping it's a new UCS version!!

even if the frozen ice castle is true, it makes no sense for cinderalla's castle to be on a 1 yr manufacturing run.  then again, i know disney likes limited releases (but that's DVDs). ...weren't all the disney themes to-date have a 12-18 month run (granted, slow sales were prob part of it).

could it be that there is sufficient stock of Cinderella castle to last until mid of 2015 based on sales trend? Also consider shelf space limitation if Elsa ice palace is starting to sell.

You are only right if it fits into the same category. If it's a large one then just look at the X-wing.

I'm confident it will be quite a large set and I'm confident in the 7965 retiring.

Do you think this would make the current MF not as valuable with the new one coming out to replace it so soon?

At the least it will put quite hard ceiling on growth

Rumors have it that there will be a new UCS MF.. You still need a playset. It should still do reasonably well.

I'm thinking a new UCS MF will have playability as well and not be just a model.  Maybe more Death Star like.

Essentially a bigger version of 7965 ?

In that case the current one will be trash. Lol

UCS MF

I will still pick up any 7965 I find for under $100.

Well, not everyone will shell out $400 for a MF, but and but, the aftermarket still might be limited for getting $200 - $250 for 7965.

200$ would be pretty reasonable .

Time for me to dump my LOTR for 7965's. :D

I think we'll see that this holiday season.  Personal opinion, of course.

I haven't checked CCC, but I believe it topped that on amazon last year , so you are not wide off the mark
