  • Here you go. Are likes important? ^^ Anyway, I find it interesting that the City Vulcan sets are also seem to be done. They are from last year, so they are not really that old. Did a pretty good

  • I'm feeling generous and seems Cladner and Val-E are working to hard at this,  might as well simplify their jobs for the holidays.  Plus some of these need to disappear quicker... 10815

  • Chris, I think you're coming in at a time where the LEGO reselling party is coming to an end. I'm not saying there is no more money to be made; what I'm saying is that the ship is full and the general

Might be the new trend going forward in the future....Lego keeps releasing more and more of these expensive overpriced sets and many are going to end up with a short shelf life due to lack of sales/deals and many are going to go under the radar of both collectors and investors and next thing you know "Out Of Stock/Sold Out" and then boom goes the dynamite

I believe so. One argument against this is the cost to LEGO of manufacturing flops and then pulling them at a loss. However, I doubt there are significant initial manufacturing costs for new sets. I recently watched a LEGO documentary showcasing their manufacturing capabilities from the '70s and '80s, and I can only imagine they've improved and streamlined their processes since then. This suggests they can easily pivot when a set underperforms.

Looking at their annual reports, LEGO’s profit margins are extremely high, which likely accounts for marketing and markdown costs—the largest expenses for consumer products—revealing the low cost of manufacturing.

Regarding "Boom Goes Dynamite": this supports my theory that in the future, the main winners will be large sets primarily purchased by Gen X and older Gen Y consumers (5-10 years down the line).

I’m not sure if you’re looking to collect or invest in these. To me, investing means having at least three copies, which increases your risk. I’m not the best person to advise on which set to invest in. If you’re buying just one, choose the set you want to build in case it flops. That way, you’ll still have a set you love—like the Sanctum Sanctorum for me.

Lego has no worries....For every 1 flop they might have they'll have many others that will print $$$.....Lego is no different than any other company.......All about the $$$

Has the 10271 Ecto-1 ever been on sale? LEGO raised the price back in 2022 when they adjusted prices on a whole bunch of sets, so it went from 200 to 240, but other than that, has the price ever dipped below retail anywhere? I’d like to get it before it retires, but I’d rather not pay retail unless I have to.

It was on sale at Target last week for about $212.. I have been keeping an eye on it as well, depending on how bad you want it you might want to scoop it up with the way some of these bigger sets are drying up.

I think Zaavi used to sell it for $160-$180

Cantina, Corvette, Camaro, and if i can get anymore dr strange marvel modular is the top of my target lego investments this holiday season.

Last year id say the only successes for me was police station and bird of paradise.  Lot of duds...

Same thing happened last year with Birds of Paradise. People think sold out is authoritative but when it's in October, I dont believe it.

lol obv that was a good buy regardless, but my point about coming back in stock stands.

On the topic of BOP - there is a new botanical coming out on 2/1/25 for $110 and about the same piece count as BOP.

Remake?

According to BrickFanatics, that set and 60363 Ice Cream Shop had been set to retire in 2026; guess they were wrong for months lol
