Problem is, too many people like you who don't want to help others.

One thing to realize is that those of us who are in a position to help are in that position because of the time we've put into this and the longevity of our efforts.  I certainly had help along the way (I'm still hugely indebted to LegoFanTexas for one key piece of advice he gave years ago and Raven for...well...a bunch of stuff), but no one served everything up to me or anyone that I know on a platter.  I'm happy to provide help, but it's unrealistic to expect me or Donbee or anyone else to spell out the specifics on what  they're doing and how they're doing it.  Besides, there is a certain "survival of the fittest" element to this...the history of this site is littered with people who dive in with great enthusiasm before getting bogged down and quitting because of the amount of work and effort it takes to be successful.

  • Here you go. Are likes important? ^^ Anyway, I find it interesting that the City Vulcan sets are also seem to be done. They are from last year, so they are not really that old. Did a pretty good

  • I'm feeling generous and seems Cladner and Val-E are working to hard at this,  might as well simplify their jobs for the holidays.  Plus some of these need to disappear quicker... 10815

  • Chris, I think you're coming in at a time where the LEGO reselling party is coming to an end. I'm not saying there is no more money to be made; what I'm saying is that the ship is full and the general

LegoFanTexas.  Wow, now there's a blast from the past. What ever happened to that guy?  I know he talked of getting out but we all have at some point.  Those were fun days but everyone getting offended all the time about large purchases really go old.  And I never thought of Little Timmy the same way again . . .

I don't know.  I was in touch with him for a while, but lost it along the way.  My sense was that he was into selling a lot of other stuff and got into Lego as a bit of a lark.  He didn't seem to be into longer holds and my assumption is that Lego lost its luster for him when the margins started tightening and the hold times started lengthening.

And my how times have changed...back then, a picture of a van full of clearance would inevitably lead to a lengthy exchange about how horrible it was that poor little Timmy would miss out on all those great deals.

Man, that brings back memories of the great doodad and widget war that raged years ago on Brickset. Long live LegoFanTexas.

Solid advice ;)

And Chima (the spiritual successor of Fabuland, at least in my head) was not that bad :D

That was my impression as well. I wonder if he is still selling the other stuffs or if he quit selling altogether

this forum is a "den of thieves"...and as much as we think there's some sort of "Pirate's Code"...every one of us here are competing w/ everyone else.

I'm on here daily and actually enjoy the "community"...but I harbor no disillusion that anyone here wouldn't trample me on a bee-line for a 30% sale...I would only hope that the train of shopping carts would not roll over me as well

Nobody cares about Timmy! This is business, like every other good or service.

I'm sick of these idiots attacking resellers just because the product is LEGO. Grow up!

Instead of attacking resellers that make 50% profit, they should attack LEGO for charging $350 for a few pounds of plastic. Who's the real scalper here?! F%&$ing morons!

Sorry for the rant, just needed to be said.

So, let me get this straight. You are arguing that a company that innovates, employs probably tens of thousands and has worked hard for nearly 80 years is to be chastised because some of their product is marketed at a higher end price range? That opportunistic resellers (of which I am proudly one) are somehow more virtuous or less worthy of scorn than the company that makes what they do even possible? Really? That's the line you're going with?

There are in fact some things that don't need to be said.

Yup, that's exactly what I'm saying to these haters. Deal with it. If I'm following their "logic", LEGO is as "immoral" as we are.

I cannot believe I only see 3 PRIME sellers right now for this set ? Where is the horde of sellers on this one ?

Sorry, there is another category with 3 additional PRIME sellers but their rankings are lower. Nevertheless, 6 PRIME sellers in total is still nothing for such a popular set.

Seems that Smythys UK have delisted 75278 D-O. Change click and collect location.

Maybe Smyths are just removing it from their range, or maybe it is going early.

It's gated
It's gated

It’s gated for me, even though I’m ungated for Lego. Not sure why, but there’s a few like that (including friends Stephanie’s gymnastics show 41762).

Pretty sure his main business consisted of electronics (or computer parts) distribution.  So he had a warehouse and was already setup for this.  An ideal situation.

Yep.  He was on the way out of LEGO reselling then. I was just curious if he stopped selling electronics etc altogether

If you check, you'll likely find that you're gated on a number of current sets.  I've never really paid close attention to this in the past, but I do know that there are sets that I can list now that I was gated on a year or so ago around the holidays.

You know, it can be a bad sign when you start talking to yourself.

But, on the topic of the retirement list...as far as I'm aware, Lego doesn't release any type of official retirement list to the public.  Unless you have inside information, the only sure fire way to tell is when sets show up as "Retired Product" or have a "Retiring Soon" tag on LEGO Shop at Home.  Otherwise, you have to rely on the lists that various sites publish.

Oh...no idea about that...I've never paid enough attention to see if there is a discernible pattern.  You could likely look back over the history of this thread to pinpoint when the tags went up in years past to get an idea.
