November 6, 20196 yr Ha ha, there are so many people salivating and scratching at the door to see the list, me too?? Seeing the list would be great, I’m curious if the Creator Beetle is going? I’ve worked out most sets (I think)?
November 6, 20196 yr Unfortunately VWs just don´t seem to want to retire. I reckon the bus will be the next vehicle to go.

There are public lists doing the rounds since September so pretty much everyone now knows what is going apart from maybe 2 or 3 store exclusive sets or last minute additions. It´s a lot less sets than last year mainly due to the massive cull of Brickheadz but we can also see less large D2c retirements, which is a worry as there are too many options. Lego have also extended a lot of best seller sets so they seem to be more and more sales driven.

November 6, 20196 yr I just think TLG realized the price could be uped by 50%... maybe they retire it, wait a year and bring it back as a $180 set... but that would cause an enormous outrage, seems illogical, so I really don't know why the hell they will retire it...
November 6, 20196 yr The sooner they retire it the sooner they could bring it back. It does seem they have closed the Creator vault for a while, maybe as SW remakes have been keeping them busy. Next week SAH should start tagging retiring sets anyway.
November 6, 20196 yr BTW there are currently 538 SVs on Bricklink EUR compared to 103 Old Fishing Stores, 109 Voltrons, 107 Banks, 335 Pet Shops, 355 Ectos and 446 PRs. Only T1 would appear more hoarded at 880 units. That´s a hell of a lot of stock considering many people will not have even bothered listing theirs yet. The good news is almost all are listed at RRP or above. Edited November 6, 20196 yr by Val-E

But consider shipping, e.g. a German buyer won't pay American shipping costs, that filters out many sellers and scales down the market. Plus it's 2019 and a lot of people STILL don't know BL, they go and pay the ridiculous Amazon prices. Comfort? Fear of the unknown? ?
November 6, 20196 yr One interesting thing to note. Just a few years ago if you told me LEGO was retiring 200+ sets, I would have asked if they were closing business. We live in interesting time. There are side effects of having this huge of catalog that we won't see until 2022 or beyond.

World wide it's 1480.
November 6, 20196 yr FWIW, dates when SAH updated site with near full list of tagged sets: 2016 - 11/11 2017 - 10/28 2018 - 11/16

November 6, 20196 yr Any chance 10262 - JB Aston Martin goes this year? Don't think I have seen it on any retiring lists?
