October 31, 20196 yr To get back on topic, once again Lego have released more D2c sets than the retiring ones. Of special note is the bloated car range with Beetle and Bus both on long runs apart from our dear friend T1.
October 31, 20196 yr I agree, I'm surprised the Beetle and London bus would stick around. They don't seem to be big sellers. I'm fearing I may have gone a little too deep on them both. The mini coopers are doing quite well for me though. If Saturn V is going, I need to get deep in those quick, I only have a few. I don't care how many people stockpile them, I'm confident demand will be high enough..
October 31, 20196 yr So according to the Brick Fan list, Mythical Creatures (31073) is retiring, but the older 31058 Mighty Dinosaurs is not. I guess the Mighty Dinosaurs are really good sellers then!

I guess the Mighty Dinosaurs are really good sellers then! [emoji14] In theory there’s the draw of having an entry level Dino instead of paying for a JW or giant USC sized T Rex. Dinosaurs are becoming the new mechs.Remember, just because something is retiring doesn’t mean it will fly off the shelf. A number of these sets will linger at retailers for awhile. My local Belk is now carrying Lego, so the field of stores post TOU collapse continues to expand.Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum

October 31, 20196 yr 31058 has been one of the most popular sets since it came out, even 4 years later, still selling incredibly well. I don't think they'll retire it until it stops selling the way it does. A few of my regional retailers have stopped carrying it, but I know it continues to move. As far as investment, it's been pretty well hoarded and has been avail at more or less perma discount for a while, so I am skeptical as to the long term returns (and when they do replace it it will be with something very similar) - but a flexible Dinosaur set for $12 and 174 pieces is obviously the sweet spot for LEGO itself. A non-D2C set being available at a big discount goes without saying.

This has been available for around 200 euros, similar to a decent discount on the 911 so anyone paying more than that will not be able to sell at this time. Anyway, the Chiron is a 2020 retirement so we are getting a little ahead of ourselves.

I think £180 or below is the going rate for quick sales on Gumtree / FB.
October 31, 20196 yr the Apocalypseburg listing on Walmart has been removed entirely it seems. At least I don't find it. I did find it through my wish list but not search bar. Edited October 31, 20196 yr by Belac edit

It already had an extension, normal life span is 24 month at least in the past if I researched correctly.
