Having bought, built then parted out this set only keeping the Batmobile I'd have to agree with you.

I wouldn't compare it to Tumbler. That's a fantastic set that retired with too much stock at lego investment peak and DC fans coming out of their dark ages will want it. It's just a matter of when supplies go down.

Classic Batcave is a set without a market. A playset based on a theme that's kids won't understand and that's too disjointed for a display set just like AoH. Even then AoH you could build a scene from using some AT-AT's & AT-ST's. What other sets does this complement?

  • Here you go. Are likes important? ^^ Anyway, I find it interesting that the City Vulcan sets are also seem to be done. They are from last year, so they are not really that old. Did a pretty good

  • I'm feeling generous and seems Cladner and Val-E are working to hard at this,  might as well simplify their jobs for the holidays.  Plus some of these need to disappear quicker... 10815

  • Chris, I think you're coming in at a time where the LEGO reselling party is coming to an end. I'm not saying there is no more money to be made; what I'm saying is that the ship is full and the general

Really starting to think that 60's Classic Batcave is on its way out early next year. In the UK its been discounted up to 30% on three seperate occasions now which is a bit unprecedented for such a new "exclusive". I think it's going to be a one year and done set.

Can't see it doing well at all post retirement certainly in Europe, but if, as a collector its still on your want list I wouldn't leave it too long.

I agree, i brought 2 @ £164 each to part out, but decided to hold fire as i think it will be gone in 6 months. If Smyths are still discounting it then it can't be good.

I can't see this going for £300+ in the next 3 years, so i think i'll continue with my initial plan and part them out.

Where are those folks who disagreed with me about that 60's batcave when said it was a bad investment?

Looking at the market which I have direct access to which means Polish and Czech Rep and all I can say (Classic Batcave) set isn't going well or not going at all. None of the sets listed online have been sold within last 2-3 weeks or so from any of the biggest e-commerce online shops even with discounted price by approx~ 20% of the RPP, to be equivalent of 180GBP... still no go. huge gamble investing in this set.
on the other hand, old batcave set 6860 listed currently for 2* RPP is outpacing the Classic Batcave by all means on my local market, offering much less for almost same money.

They are probably now key members of the Brexit negotiation strategy group.

You mean we have a plan?

The only added value the set has is the cool batmobile. They´d have been better of selling it alone like Ecto or Mystery Machine.

There´s just no market for these large SH sets in Europe.

Off topic, but the last I heard, their idea was to buy a new plan from the same people whose original free plan they didn´t like in the first place.

Lincoln wasn't attractive for the audience even with this hidden gem inside the structure. Even the reviews were mixed about this one.

With the quick disappearance of the Lincoln Memorial, are we thinking differently about the possible lifespan of The Capitol Building?

It made it almost 2 years. So, I would think about the same.

What was the lowest price had been sold for the Lincoln?

Picked up some for $18 yesterday at Books A Million.

There are fewer gems inside The Capitol.

But comparing to the most of the sets from Architecture line The Capitol is vast.

I'm willing to pay $29.99 now.

I would tend to agree with your assessment if buying at full retail, but it seems a little early to claim victory on the prediction.

I could see this thing having some wow factor if it exits quickly and people come along that say, WOAH, they made that?

Add in buying at a discount, and i could see this being a surprise winner.

But the point is, it's way too early to say one way or the other.

I think you will be able to. It's not officially retired, right?

Stick a fork in it.

The new LEGO Batman movie could be a factor in this set, even though it's not from the movie.

The 21022 Lincoln Memorial is still hanging on in the UK. I bought enough the other week to pair with every 21006 White House I have. A WH sold for £81.46 posted in the UK today which would've been an easy £40 profit after fees and P&P. Did you all notice how quiet I was about the WH until I filled my boots before before Retirement was due? Of course, I'm not selling these just yet as Trump's inauguration may cause a spike in demand (and $) and I'll be ready for it ;-)

I've also bought an obscene amount of 21006 Trevi Fountains and I think the 21019 Eiffel Tower could be next for the chop?

Who said the Architecture theme was dead or... dying ;-)

I love the Batmobile in the '60s Batcave but, it's a shame the the rest of the set is diarrhoea.

Not much love for Flatiron, which is actually the most recent set to be retiring.

Built one up two days ago - looks nice but not more. My women mentioned that it is not really impresive at all, in opposite to her meaning about Louvre...

Sounds like Burj Khalifa would be more up your street!
