FM back to  sold out status. I expect TLG to add retiring soon tags to a few other large exclusives as from this week or next and the final retirements to be between 5th and 25th Dec - except for EV which will make it through to the Jan sales.

FM?

  • Here you go. Are likes important? ^^ Anyway, I find it interesting that the City Vulcan sets are also seem to be done. They are from last year, so they are not really that old. Did a pretty good

  • I'm feeling generous and seems Cladner and Val-E are working to hard at this,  might as well simplify their jobs for the holidays.  Plus some of these need to disappear quicker... 10815

  • Chris, I think you're coming in at a time where the LEGO reselling party is coming to an end. I'm not saying there is no more money to be made; what I'm saying is that the ship is full and the general

Has anybody thought of contacting the head office of some retailers to make an offer on retiring stock that they may want to shift quickly? I hope to hear from Tesco soon but, not banking on it of course as there's others ahead of me! It is possible as this is how I got my 10187 VW Beetles cheap which got me started in the game. I snagged them from JL before they went to TK Maxx. I did have help from a mate who's a liquidator however.

Remember that you'll need deep pockets, a large van and warehouse space as these are often by the pallet and you have to take them all as most will only deal if you take the entire lot there and then. You'll also need someone on the inside to help you. This is how TK Maxx & Home Bargains get some of their stock.

This is probably how that guy in Southampton got all those pallets of 10179, 10221, 10225, etc.

B&M have started selling some Chima so they must have got left over stock from somewhere.

TBH your the only UK person that posts on BP that could buy up all remaining stock. I personally don't have money / space etc and not sure I would want to resell lego full time. Fair play to you if you manage to get them, would be a great opportunity.

In this day and age, would Tesco still struggle to sell out all stock of a major desirable set? The moment Lego slaps a 'retired' tag on something on their website, everyone rushes to clear stock at Tesco, JL, Asda etc providing it is at least moderately attractive and reasonably priced. Whatever would be left at Tesco after the holiday season would be the least desirable retired sets. Maybe the odd Technic set.

I wish I was presented with a pallet of 10221 at the time :)

was meant for EV.  Quote function didn't work.

MI wonder if Smyths would offload their 1200x EVs at say, £66.66 (1/3 RRP) a pop? This is the sort of money these could be had for if the retailer is desperate for expensive shelf space and needs to offload poor sellers. This, of course, it out of my league but, I would speak to my bank and rent a secure warehouse if it wasn't such a horrible set.

The guy who set the Spaceport price at Tesco would bite your hand off if you offered so much!

Let's crowdfund this thing! Wouldn't Smyths realise a sizable loss per unit at £66?

Smyths have no problem keeping retired sets on shelves for a fair while,  they have plenty of space and like it to always look full.  which is why i managed to pick up 42025's on clearance at £50 in July. When it was gone everywhere else by Feb.

Don't know why EV isn't doing better its a great set for display with some at-st's and an ist.

If they do clearance EV it will be at £100 mid year

The limit 2 sets in the BF sale are now limit 5. Only DS, Disney Castle limited to 1.

I wonder if these reappearances have new seal codes.

I wonder if the Scots wear underpants underneath their kilt.
