198 unavailable items from the 295 marked as retiring soon on DE shop.

It seems the snowglobe + BF weekend did some damage but quite a lot of sets will hang around till mid December or even the Jan 2 sale.

Any bets on which sets will be the last ones standing? TBBT and EV are currently on my list, together with Nexo. Maze has already made more comebacks than Sinatra so it could still be stinking out the place come January.

Seriously? I received an e-mail literally 5 minutes ago telling me the Maze order I placed last week is cancelled.... ?

5x 21305 Maze are still backorderable in the UK. So far, any backorder that I've placed has always been fulfilled, even those 41999 Technic Crawlers!

The maze isn't for me and I've not ordered any but, hope it's available for those that want them.

I just wanted one Maze to complete my Ideas collection. The Snowglobe was a nice extra and I used up all my VIP points. Of course, now that my order is cancelled, I have to wait a couple of days before my VIP point become available again and by that time the Maze will be gone again.

Or I could just pay RRP of course, but that's against my principles

You can't just call them and explain and have them reinstate your order? Not sure how accessible LEGO CS is in the EU, but that's what I would do here in the US.

In the UK, I called them on 00800 5346 5555 when I wanted another backordered 5x Mars Rovers while the promo was still on. The promo arrived on its own and then the 5x Mars Rovers about 2 weeks later. They're very helpful and will likely sort you out as long as you don't have 100 Snow Globes already!

I know where you're coming from... I don't like paying RRP either and will NEVER pay over RRP to a reseller!

I'd say they've had their last production run. How long they last on shelves/online is anyone's guess and influenced by regional popularity. If you want them and can afford to, buy them now.

Since the show is a lot more unpopular here than it is in the US, it wouldn't surprise me if it retires here a year before the US. When the Simpsons House went out of stock in the UK, eBay prices still struggled to reach RRP which is not a very good sign. I remember when the Architecture Studio was sold out in the US before it was even launched in the UK.

I know some on this board think they are certain the simpsons are going this year but I show not signs of it retiring at all. These are sets that will require the retiring soon label and heavy discounting to clear out. Not even walmart has discounted them in the USA and they heavily discounted every retiring exclusive.

Do you think dr-strange will retire soon like ant-man did? They are no one selling them in canada except lego store, they are the only one. Will the ecto disapear to? (with the girls)

Agreed--I just said they were done making them. I'm not sure when any retailer will be done selling them.

Just use your points for something else later on. Why miss out just because you want to use them now?

I don't believe they are done making them either (at least for the N. America market). If so they would be discounted by retailers in the USA to get rid of them by the end of the year. Apparently the license has not expired or TLG re-upped (maybe so they could keep them in dimensions?).

Not true. Dr Strange is a TRU exclusive, and can also be found at the Lego website (though not in stores). I got mine at TRU. I think it could possibly disappear soon, but TRU exclusives do not have a good history of doing that. Wal-mart exclusives like the Ra's al Ghul set are a likelier contender in my book. Ant-man and Raptor Escape were both Wal-mart exclusives last year and disappeared right quick.

I doubt Ecto disappears within a year of release.

Yes it was, but out of stock again pretty fast. I ordered one 11 days ago and was backordered but not cancelled so far. Hoping it won't get to that point. Also due to me being at work this afternoon was too late to order another one. I do have 2 at Amazon.de which were backordered too. Curious to see what happens to them...
