Retiring Soon - open speculation

To continue an earlier thread, here are the sets listed on S@H as "Retiring Soon":

Friends - Stephanie's Cool Convertible, Olivia's Speedboat, Mia's Bedroom, Series 1 foil packs

Duplo - Train Starter Set, Doctor's Clinic, Emergency Helicopter

Creator - Apple Tree House

Lego Games - Ninjago, Pirate Plank

Chima Speedorz - CHI Battles, Ring of Fire, Target Practice, CHI Waterfall

Technic - Mini Container Truck

LOTR - Gandalf Arrives, Orc Forge

CMF - Series 9

Architecture - Sugnyemun

Marvel Super Heroes - Captain America's Avenging Cycle

Star Wars - Endor Rebel Trooper and Imperial Trooper Battle Pack, Planet Bespin & Twin Cloud Car, Planet Endor & AT-ST

Nothing earth-shattering.  Orc Forge surprises me the most.

  • Here you go. Are likes important? ^^ Anyway, I find it interesting that the City Vulcan sets are also seem to be done. They are from last year, so they are not really that old. Did a pretty good

  • I'm feeling generous and seems Cladner and Val-E are working to hard at this,  might as well simplify their jobs for the holidays.  Plus some of these need to disappear quicker... 10815

  • Chris, I think you're coming in at a time where the LEGO reselling party is coming to an end. I'm not saying there is no more money to be made; what I'm saying is that the ship is full and the general

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that your single experience isn't much of a sample size to have decided this.

Don't read the thread on Lego Bans then...you'll be in denial for hours of reading!

Check out the thread on Lego Bans. There used to be a badge for those who got ban from SAH.

Yes go ahead and think that Lego does not ban you, go order 5 sand crawlers, 4 EV and 5 slave 1 in 2 days time on SAH. I think a chunk of us who still has old Lego accounts pref to keep those profiles safe and not risk large purchases.

What does C2C mean?

Call to Check

Ah, well it's still regular "Available Now" in United States

40165 Wedding Favour is C2C at LEGO Shop at Home.

This is not going to retire after being available for only 1 week. This is crazy talk. C2C does not mean it's retiring.

True that C2C does not equal retired, however in the very limited cases of the seasonal/small production run items, they do occasionally sell out on LEGO Shop at Home very quickly and do not make a return, or make a return in several months (see cake toppers, holiday vignettes last year).

Yes, some Seasonal or Holiday sets sell quick and don't come back. This set is not seasonal or holiday. It'll be like the birthday cake topper, which will sell out from time to time, then return.

I think you're prediction is 99.9% probable. This is probably just an issue of demand exceeds initial supply.

I do seem to recall some genuine surprise last year when those cake toppers came back into stock after the extended absence. I am also really sick this weekend and not thinking very clearly so maybe that wasn't the case.

Maybe everyone knew they were going to come back into stock after the initial sell out status on LEGO Shop at Home. I do remember waiting too long for my initial order on them and missing out though. That sucked.

You are right, the cake topper did sell quick in the US. It was out of stock for about 2-3 months if I remember right. There was good money to be made after the first time they went out of stock. Maybe these will have the same run!

PS PC and SOH are OOS at amazon. Any sign??

Probably due to people receiving their tax returns...

Pet Shop has gone out of stock now at Walmart, Target, TRU and amazon in the last 24 hours.

ordered another 2 from target this morning before it poofed.

down to shop at home.

Double vip might kill it there. Hope it doesn't come back

Tower Bridge reduced in price from £209.99 to £179.99 in UK  by Toys r Us biggest price drop i have seen in UK for this.Toys R Us did not have that many in stock either because they sold out within hours late saturday night early sunday morning not exactly prime time shopping hours none available for c and c or delivery.

I think lego may just pull a surprise retirement soon, the last set  Tru did this with was the SC and have not replaced it since even though its been available for quite a while.
