August 23, 20214 yr tossing a coin on what to do with these tree houses. if it is indeed 2023 thats a long time to be soaking up space & funds. do not like taking any type of loss but might take my medicne on this lot...You should never be afraid of taking a loss if the circumstances warrant it. It's much better to dump, take the loss and reinvest than tie the full amount of that capital up with the hope of future returns. I learned that lesson the hard way with 10188. Since that debacle, I have been quick to dump things that are not productive and don't regret a single loss I have taken for this reason.Sent from my LM-V600 using Tapatalk

I had dozens of treehouses until Dec of last year... when the date got pushed back to 2021, I sold them all at a profit (buy-in was ~30% off) & needless to say, I'm happy about my decision. I would have also sold at a loss. It hurts, sure, especially when the initial date would've been such a short run, but that's the game. There are so many big sets retiring this year, I'd say free up the capital & go for it. Edited August 23, 20214 yr by elmaslıefendi

August 25, 20214 yr So San Francisco is drying up. Does anyone believe this is really the last hurrah? Seems like too much of a good seller not to have a restock for Q4. If indeed it is almost gone. it will do exceptionally well.

For all we know its drying up right now because there's 10 cargo ships sitting off different ports full of SF's.

No delivery date as of now I hope they will receive some eventually.

This sounds like it will turn out like 40273: Thanksgiving Turkey. Plus you also find some of the seasonal BrickHeadz pop up the following year after retirement for a short period. Alot better items to pick than this.

I think the licensed brickheadz would make better choices than generic ones. I'm still a little mad at missing out on a few which had really short runs. If Voldermort and Bellatrix really goes this year, it could be a winner.

I think I may have finally cracked the code or at least gleaned some insight into retiring sets using the new data fields Lego is now posting. If someone or a team was given the assignment to add these data fields to a file so they can be displayed on the website but resources are limited they may have been told to only focus on sets that will still be around. Or perhaps they just haven’t gotten to all the sets yet, but I tested this theory with several “known” retiring sets and it seems to match up. Here is an example not retiring: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/elf-club-house-10275 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/medieval-blacksmith-21325 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/bookshop-10270 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/1989-batwing-76161 retiring: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/gingerbread-house-10267 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/dinosaur-fossils-21320 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/corner-garage-10264 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/1989-batmobile-76139 Edited September 1, 20214 yr by Pseudoty
