Same, glad Kohl’s blew them out

Did yours not get shipped in bags?  I've had a rough time with Kohl's shipping practices.

  • Here you go. Are likes important? ^^ Anyway, I find it interesting that the City Vulcan sets are also seem to be done. They are from last year, so they are not really that old. Did a pretty good

  • I'm feeling generous and seems Cladner and Val-E are working to hard at this,  might as well simplify their jobs for the holidays.  Plus some of these need to disappear quicker... 10815

  • Chris, I think you're coming in at a time where the LEGO reselling party is coming to an end. I'm not saying there is no more money to be made; what I'm saying is that the ship is full and the general

They had aisle displays for Black Friday, so I picked up a bunch in store.

Nice work!  I couldn't find many in store.  I've been haggling with their online CS to come up with an amicable solution for all the time I've wasted replacing damaged sets the last 30 days.

I’m interested to hear how your negotiations turn out.  I feel most online CS folks have little leeway to make good on our misfortunes.  And many successful companies don’t get how things like bad shipping experiences may have pocketed them an extra fifty cents per item, but is only tolerated by their customers for lack of options. If you have a CS rep that can make “right” for their mistakes, then maybe they also have management that is listening to their mistakes and can take actions to reduce them in the future.

For you guys that have been around the block (heh), how do the non-EOY retirements typically work? I know COVID makes things potentially screwy, but do the same sort of lists tend to pop up, or are there a lot of surprises/sudden disappearances of sets?  Is there another production turnover mid-year, or are there just sort of scattered instances throughout?

Lego basically has two retirement points each year...7/31 and 12/31. A smaller number of sets is retired 7/31 than 12/31, but there's no real rhyme or reason about whether a set goes mid-year or end-of-year. And when a set is retired mid-year, it may disappear as early as April or May, or remain available until later in the year.

and of course Lego could just change their mind and extend or shorten the life of a set . . .  so, what we're really trying to say is . . .

Questo mi fa ancora grattare la testa.

Vedo personalmente un pensionamento di metà anno.

From which online store?

This still has me scratching my head.

I can see a mid year retirement personally.

This is usually due to JL not being able to order the item from Lego. As the back order is down as April on SAH right now, maybe why JL have removed as they can't get stock for a few months.

Or second option is like you said, suppliers won't get any more batches after the back orders are fulfilled, and it goes Q2.

Maybe Lego will only sell direct this set from now on as a limited run until EOL.

I think it's the only Star Wars set from 2017 or 2018 still around (oops, I guess UCS MF is still there), so it has to be either retiring soon or significant in some way to upcoming SW stuff, I would think.  Either way, I like that one a lot.

Unrelated, has like, ALMOST ALL the HP stuff that is retiring totally dried up in the last few days?

Rumours of new up and coming Lego sets this year including a new Death Star.

Think this will effect the resale of the retiring Death Star. 🙁

Rumour I hear is a 10000 piece Return of the Jedi Death Star UCS remake

even star wars die hards must be bored by now.

I would actually really like this, from a consumer perspective at least. Missed on the original one so an updated/improved version would be great

the one upness in terms of piece count seems to be getting out of hand...especially when the pieces are all mostly tiny and the same color...looking right at Coliseum and the thought of an UCS RotJ Deathstar (tho would be a day 1 purchase of me)

...a nice easter egg would be a Sith holocron in the Emperor's throne room

I agree and an Executor with flames protruding from the side of the unfinished DS would be a nice twist.
