wasted my entire evening to see the stock status in Lego Stores in london and decided to and waste some of my VIP points on some winter sets and one thing really brought my attention in particular.
When I was heading towards my work place this morning I decided to jump just for 2 minutes to leicester square Lego Store to see situation with Stock Status and with the Maze and Santa Workshop and White House in particular.
White House is completely gone at Leicester Square and Stratford branch. Won't be in stock anymore. it's gone for good.
Maze was in the morning 5 boxes, gone by the evening when popped to the store again to see the situation. -AAAAAAND it's Gone.
Lego staff management couldn't justify about stock status in the future :S :S
Santa Workshop was in store in the morning gone by the evening - Won't be in stock anymore ( I missed that opportunity )

Stratford Lego Store - Pet Shop in stock, Maze in stock. White House Gone.
Ended up with Pet Shop.

I'm really surprised that the White House gone missing almost everywhere within so short period of the time! Hope your stocks are fully loaded. Because I don't even have single box.


P.S 2 someone from Lego whispered to me that the Creator Cinema is next in the pipeline to be retired which surprised me since it's fairly young set.

John Lewis have sold all their Santa Workshops too, it's starting to claim up on ebay, although i'm sure the lowballers will soon remedy that.

They'll probably be back again next year. I remember a couple of years ago when I bought up all the Winter Village Markets in the Reading branch when they reduced them by 50% in January. I wish we had a "Wanted" section as I could help some of you out.

Remember that you'll need deep pockets, a large van and warehouse space as these are often by the pallet and you have to take them all as most will only deal if you take the entire lot there and then. You'll also need someone on the inside to help you. This is how TK Maxx & Home Bargains get some of their stock.

This is probably how that guy in Southampton got all those pallets of 10179, 10221, 10225, etc.

Palace Cinema was "due" to retire this year.  It's just that no modulars retired last year.  So should not really be a surprise, though at this point I'm not touching modulars at any discount below 20% off MSRP.

Yes, when a set disappears completely from the site, that usually means it will reappear in the Retired section.

As long as they sent me the one I ordered 12 days ago, that's very okay... Oh and the 2 ones I ordered from Amazon.de that were also promised 'to be sent out asap'

I've purchased PS and PC and would like to buy another modular - DO (2015) or PR (2014)?  I'm thinking PR as it's the earlier modular but I don't want to miss out on DO either.

What do you guys think about 60117 retirement? 60118 etc is retiring soon, but 60117 seems quite alive. On Lego.com 60117 it is on available for backorder.

I think 60117 (Van and Caravan) is going to stick around. Lego usually keeps one or two of the great vehicles on the shelf longer than the others. The lottery is which one.

Personally I think PR is the best of the lot between PS, PC, PR and DO. Absolutely worth it. 

Both PR and DO are not yet in the danger zone of retiring soon. PC is the last one of the older generation of Modulars which got more attention on the outside than on the inside, and also generally considered to be less appealing than PR, DO, and BB. So the most likely candidate to retire next after PS' retirement is the Cinema. When that has happened, make sure to have both PR and DO because either one could be next after that...

Nah it's not. Came out in 2013 and is now officially the oldest modular still available. Given that they retire as many modulars as they introduce, PC should be going in 2017. Would also play perfectly by the 4 year rule.

I'm not even going to entertain the PC (I have none) unless the PS shows encouraging signs. The good old days since the FB and GE retired are long gone as we get a lot of discounts now whereas there were hardly any before. As for DO, BB, PR, etc. I'm not even looking at them!
