Not sure where to post this question but interested to know: sets like Jurassic Ambush & T-Rex do they have any value to collectors or is it mostly the kids who want dinos? If the latter then I guess not a lot of parents want to spend more than RRP and it's not really worth stocking up on just or nearly retired sets at that same price?

  • Here you go. Are likes important? ^^ Anyway, I find it interesting that the City Vulcan sets are also seem to be done. They are from last year, so they are not really that old. Did a pretty good

  • I'm feeling generous and seems Cladner and Val-E are working to hard at this,  might as well simplify their jobs for the holidays.  Plus some of these need to disappear quicker... 10815

  • Chris, I think you're coming in at a time where the LEGO reselling party is coming to an end. I'm not saying there is no more money to be made; what I'm saying is that the ship is full and the general

Just ignore this theme. You can kill me later.

I suggest you read up on the relevant threads and see what the general opinion is.

Do your own research as well: don't follow the horde blindly and take every bit of "advice" over here with a couple of grams of salt. In the end it's your money, so you need to decide if it's worth spending or not.

That being said, Jurassic World is a pretty solid theme and there's another movie coming out in 2018.

Tx a lot for the tips. It's not that I'm a real dummy but until now I've only invested in bigger exclusive sets / SW / Ideas - so guess I should indeed first read those threads :)

Pet Shop C2C again

With a pinch of NaCl... LEGO in Leicester Square told me last night that they're getting a new batch in at the end of this month. I saw 42S6 on the shelf.

Ugh!

Might also be a case of the Leicester Square store getting the last batches of some of the retiring sets: they also had all Jurassic World sets, including Indominus Rex. Didn't see that one in any of the other London Lego stores this week.

They also might have had the inventory on-hand in boxes for weeks (or months) while everywhere else sold out.

Wrong thread :) ... if it's officially retired, it's no longer speculation .....

Great! Official confirmation that it has retired.

And how you explain then the new MAZE production run?

So does this mean we actually do impact Lego in a significant way?

As I cannot imagine that the sort of demand required for a new run would be generated by Christmas sales

It is believed that the life of some sets (red 5, ps, t1, tb, RI) were extended thanks to good last minute sales. How much is reseller generated is debatable. I don´t know the source for maze being extended and it is still marked retiring soon. Maybe they are just getting stock from retail returns or something like that. The seals will tell us.

People are expecting maze to be like mars rover, that ain't gonna happen. Maze was only going to do well BECAUSE it wasn't horded, now everyone jumped on the bandwagon because one person said it will do well, seems to me most people dont even know much about set i.e. who the future buyer will be, how many it sells on average, is it a slow/fast seller etc and are just buying because of "limited release time".

I honestly would recommend reading exo suit thread from start to finish as it shows completely how people can get caught up in the moment and just buy sets without having a clue. We need to remember that there are alot of differnet markets and just becuae one set does good in North America it may not perform well in Asia/ Europe and vice versa.

To be completely honest, I was going to grab 2 Maze sets (I have zero) when it went to retiring purely as it was such a short run as I thought it would be interesting to see what happens with it and that people down the line may buy it to complete their Ideas collections if they missed out on it. However, if it does indeed have an extended life now and more people than anticipated are going out and buying it in larger numbers pretty easily, I don't see the risk as worth it, especially when there are so many other sets retiring soon which are way more popular and arguably have much better chances of performing well when they are finished. Just my honest 2 cents/pence.

I only bought one maze for the sole reason of keeping my Cussoo/Ideas collection current apart from the Shinkai Sub. I have no intention of buying another. I doubt this is a trap as it's simply not a popular enough set and games rarely do well.

There's a lot of mixed feelings between us and I think it would be a good idea to have another "Investing Game" starting 01JAN17 and then declare the winners on 31DEC17. The rules being that any set has to be "bought" for RRP or less at the start.

I feel the maze need to be changed you could have the balls with Mexican flags and sell it as a game where Mexicans attempt to break through the Trump wall.
