They'd be doing him a favour... the insurance claim might be worth more than what he can sell them for after fees.

I think they will leave those T1's alone.

  • Here you go. Are likes important? ^^ Anyway, I find it interesting that the City Vulcan sets are also seem to be done. They are from last year, so they are not really that old. Did a pretty good

  • I'm feeling generous and seems Cladner and Val-E are working to hard at this,  might as well simplify their jobs for the holidays.  Plus some of these need to disappear quicker... 10815

  • Chris, I think you're coming in at a time where the LEGO reselling party is coming to an end. I'm not saying there is no more money to be made; what I'm saying is that the ship is full and the general

When do you think the modular buildings will be retired?

Sometime this century.

Which one of the current 5 modulars do you mean?

The ones likely to be replaced by the 10255

The worst case may be that no modular is going to be retired this year... :(
Best candidate candidate for retirement is - as in the last 4 years in a row :D - once again the 10218 Pet Shop.
It may be succeeded by 10255 Assembly Square. If we're lucky, 10232 Palace Cinema will retire too.
...and if we live in Wonderland, then the 10243 Parisian Restaurant will also retire. This is the point when I usually wake up and recognize that it was a dream. :D

You are the "Infiltrator".

Can't you infiltrate Lego and find out what the f@#$ is going on?

I already did and was present at the meeting when the Lego board members tried to decide which modular is going to be retired this year.
The discussion something like that:

I thought you said everything in your lock up was appreciating nicely? You must keep your T1s at home then...

Yes, both of them! The one built and the one boxed up ready to ship... in 2026.

Stopped buying Who´s, Tabby? Amazon is not selling out instantly like it was a few days ago.

Today, I saw the build Dr. Who set for the first time in real life. I think it is pretty neat.

But after the recent developments I am happy I own zero of these. It has the exo-suit blue-print all over it.

42041 (Racing Truck - official name? Who cares) and 75919 (Indominus Rex Breakout) are now C2C on LEGO Shop at Home.de.

Not yet, I know somebody in Tesco who can get them for £26.60 each soon and I'll then top up my stash. The ones at my local John Lewis are being replenished daily so I'm not at all worried about this set. My average cost of each one is still under £28. Who knows... even the Exo Suite may explode in value one day. The LEGO aftermarket is getting more weird by the day. Modulars were a dead cert but, they ain't anymore!

i have £500 to invest which sets would you say to buy and why?

Something that you like which isn't mentioned often on here if at all. There's a set that I have a lot of but, I'm not telling ;-)

Personally, I'd decide on what I like (currently and after it retires) and then keep an eye out for a -40% or more reduction. There's not enough money in the game now to buy at RRP.

That doesn´t sound like it´s retiring soon at all.....

I remember the Delorean being available everywhere for a while and often discounted, just look at it now. That was a hideous looking car but, loyal BTTF fans saw through it. There's also a lot of Dr Who fans who may not have been into LEGO until got released.

BTW... I saw 40S6 in John Lewis yesterday, hopefully the last run as I'll have all I want by next week.

LOL - nice meme. A little inaccurate as only 990,500 have been produced.

Say hypothetically Doctor Who does well, seeing as you have 200+, how long are you going to wait before selling/ how many sets will you be dumping on ebay in a certain period? As even if Doctor who is a success will take you a long time to get rid of that amount seeing as there is already such a number on ebay plus the shadow inventory of everyone on here who are not speaking up on how many sets they have.

What data do people have to prove modulars are no longer good investment options? The last retired one, GE, is bringing at least $100 profit after all fees. Lower than expected maybe but not shabby at all.
