Just had a thought. Reading through the various threads over the past few months I keep seeing people recommending; "buy this set, buy that set" and with my memory most of them go out of my head as soon as someone mentions the next hot tip.

UCS, is that all Star Wars? I have been steering clear of those as the market seems to be flooded. Tempted by 7965 MF though. It's due EOL soon.

Alcarin was referring to the new one coming out in the 2nd wave of Lord of the Rings sets; not the Pirates of the Carribean pirate ship.

To answer your question on UCS models, CNH1974, to my knowledge, there are only Star Wars UCS models thus far. There have been a few rumors about potential LOTR UCS models, but nothing has been confirmed.

What could they UCS ON LOTR? Orthanc is nearly one. The Black Gate or Helms Deep would be good. Edoras? But there is not much detail to the hall, it's mostly landscape.

A UCS Barad Dur or Minas Tirith would be awesome.

I would prefer micro scale Minas Tirith... atleast that design makes it justice... midi scale or regular scale wil lbe either too large or to screwed up!

 

we need parts of Minas Tirith not the whole city in 1 set otherwise it will never do it any justice at all. (unless its a 1000$ set)
