To top of the day with new lego sets. Cuusoo revealed there new set mars science laboratory curiosity rover today. The set won over the UCF sandcrawler and the portal 2 set.

I'm worried I won't get one so I'm almost tempted to pay $65 for one on ebay...argh....wish I had placed my order yesterday as I had planned.

It did change to sold out. We'll the new lego catalog has it marked as limited production but who really knows. We shall see I guess.

i wonder what is the upward potential for this set? the hayabusa set seems to have barely appreciated.

I think that none of the cuusoo sets will be 2 or 3 hundred dollar sets...ever. I think people might have unrealistic expectations of these sets. If you did miss it just move on it won't make or break you as an investor.

Is #21100 the exception since it was the inaugural cuusoo set? I am inclined to agree with your assessment about the 2 or 3 hundred dollar trajectory. However, I'd think that may change in the future if LEGO decided to have a very limited run on a future set (i.e. 5,000 or less). One can cuusoo 

For the newer members who might not know the first cuusoo set was only a Japan release and never was released anywhere else. Hence the crazy secondary market price. I usually exclude this set when generally speaking about cuusoo sets.

$100...maybe $150 seems more realistic.

With TRU having a web page built to sell this item I think we will be seeing more. Either they had an allotment agreement or jumped the gun, not to say Lego can't cancel.

How did they get the rover? I.thought it was a lego exclusive set?

Interesting b/c Lego CS stated it had a set run and once the stock is gone, that's it....today, they told me they have no more. Hmm.

It's also been sold out once or twice before this and came back.  Keep an eye on the page.

I've had lego c/s tell me it will be out all year since itsin the 2014 ccatalog

I think it will be back. They probably will just end up making another batch like the minecraft set. If it is gone though people had their chance to order it for a couple of days before it changed from OOS to SO.

Never sold out in the Australian store and in pretty sure I can buy more than one. I highly doubt it will retire. These sets will be back in full force in a few months. Wait and see

It is scheduled to be released through Toys R Us here, as is the DeLorean.
