reports of the SOH demise were greatly exaggerated...

Should we really increase the MIn.Wage?

Should we really increase the MIn.Wage?

Wow, i'd be irked to no end, if I received a 300.00 exclusive in that condition.

Jørn Utzon would not have liked that modification, I fear.

Not sure anyone really reported demise, but I admit I was one who thought it was probably gone - twice now.

21R5 seals in a local store yesterday.helped convince me otherwise. I was really going to buy it, too...

Yes because it was the min wage worker who made the decision to ship stuff like that, not the million dollar executive who is trying to save a few pennies and doesn't give 2 s**ts if your lego gets to you safely. Should we lower the maximum wage?

And this, friends, is why I don't buy large sets from Wally World anymore.

So, I went to return it at the Store, they wanted to credit me back only $68.
The computer shows that I paid $320, but will only allow $68 credit.
No wonder they are the richest family in the United States.

Wow, I wish Paypal offered a 68 USD max liability claim for sellers!

How is that even possible ?  Can you get a manager's override ?

You mean $68 AND you keep it. That's pretty good.

This is exactly what I was referring to with my Min. Wage comment.
Nobody wants to go the extra mile, especially in Wally World.
I would have spent another hour in there and still end up where I would have ending up.
Im just going to slap a return label on it and ship it out just like they did.
Do you think 15% off is a good discount?

21.25%?

21.25%?

For superficial packaging damage it is hard to get more than that - Amazon draw the line thereabouts too and the ban hammer will come out if you push too much. Another thing entirely is that the package was open and parts missing.

To be fair, how many of us sellers would be willing to refund more to avoid a neg or paypal NAD claim? You have to open the box to build the thing anyway is the stock answer.

One trick is that you can use a hair dryer to blow the label without damaging the box.

Hope it helps.

Just broke into the "Lego investing world" and Sydney Opera House was my first purchase, yay! 2 years later lol

Found Good deals on SOH.

it will cost me $329 + tax (around 9%) on amazon or lego.com

However, it's only $285 on jet.com (no tax and buy two of them, waive return fee). it's much cheaper!

Although I originally not planned to buy it as it's just out for 2 years and may be a while to return. I still order 2 of them.

Do you think it's a good deal?

good deal...unless they drop ship from Walmart.

I think it's a great deal but no returns...?

Be careful Jet currently is raising hundreds of millions of dollars.  Their plan is buying and drop shipping and taking large losses on all sales.

They said that if where they are manually buying it from online their staff orders and drop ships and they take a loss.

Why ?

Rival Amazon get humongous volume and then turn into real product acquisition.

On something as exclusive as an SOH I would be nervous they could drop ship it from LEGO Shop at Home to your house and in return you get banned from LEGO Shop at Home or a very lengthly conversation with them.

Also jet is banning resellers.

I like the deals but their ceo has a plan of massive losses to get to the size he needs to be and do not want you to get hurt out of it.

He also publicly said some of the places they are buying from do not like it and he does not care and will buy from somewhere else
