May 30, 201312 yr Just looking for some opinions on the Turtles. I was thinking about trading for the set of 4. Do these have any potential? Are they good figures?
May 30, 201312 yr I do think they have potential, but its harder to guess a minifigs potential more than a sets.. I'd say just buy the sets with all four..
May 30, 201312 yr The Turtle minifigs are probably the only real good part about those sets truthfully. I have uses for some of the pieces in those odd colors but that is beside the point. One thing that is a bit tricky and possibly made intentional is the way how the Turtles have different heads with varying facial expressions which make it to where you would have to buy all of the sets to collect all the different faces.
May 30, 201312 yr Author Yeah, the sets don't really interest me. I figured if I can trade for them, it is a win win. I just checked ebay and most sell for over $5-$10 apiece. Which is decent.
May 30, 201312 yr The minifigs will be carrying the value of these sets, so just investing in the figures would probably be a good option.
May 31, 201312 yr That Dogpound minifig is so beefy! The Dogpound minifig is awesome! And honestly, I think these TMNT sets will be a secret winner. They are currently filming the live-action movie which I think will come out in 2014. I'm not personally investing in them, I just think there are other factors to consider.
June 17, 201312 yr I don't know about their value, but I do know that they're some of the coolest minifigs i've ever seen. I often use my little brother as an example. He's never into any of my hobbies, but occasionally he'll see something that he can't resist. Of all the legos he's seen at my house, he went for the turtles. He ended up buying one of the TMNT keychains. They look really good. The shell as a backpack piece is a cool idea and I like Lego minifigs that limit how much they change the original design. With the turtles only the head is changed. The shell is new, but it's no more far out than other unique backpacks that have been designed for minifigs in the past.. so it passes my test. I've actually been considering getting one of the turtle minifigs tatted
