What is the best deal on LEGO you have ever found?

Many years ago, I picked up two used but complete Rahkshi at a Salvation Army for $2 apiece. I always regret not getting more, becaue they had all of the Rahkshi, Bohrok, Nuva, and some other stuff. I went back a while later to buy some more, but they THREW IT ALL AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was eather some load of crap broken piece or lead poisoning scare, and I couldn't reason with them. My ten year old self had to stand buy as they dumped dozens of Bionicle, as well as all their other toys, into a big bin to be dumped. JERKS!!!!!!! >:( >:-( :ohh: :grrr: :ahhh: :vampire:

  • I think the best deal I actually ever had on LEGO was finding BrickPicker back in 2012.  I can't think any deal that was really better than this.

  • Fine, I'll play. 250 pounds of bulk with Emerald Night, QAR, BP, Shuttle Expedition, every Indiana Jones Set, plus 50 or so other sets. Oh, almost forgot, a 90% complete Grand Carousel. $50.

Lucky...

Best deal I ever did was while I was in highschool. I sent out an email to my entire upper school that I needed Legos for a school project that I was working on (I in fact did need gray parts). The school was a very prestigious prep school with oodles of rich people. I ended up getting several thousand dollars worth of Legos just given to me. A complete Sante Fe, the whole range of large technic sets, a Taj mahal... etc etc. Never ceases to amaze me how appealing to charity can net you a lot compared to buying it... For the record I built a killer project for class...I felt like I had to.

Probably the portal of atlantis for $50 at Walmart. I know the return is next to nothing right now, but assuming I don't want to sell it, it was a good deal.

A few years back K-Mart blew out a bunch of toys for $2 each. Some LEGO's were included. I remember Prince of Persia, some Star Wars, Toy Story, CARS, City, and some other misc toys. Pretty good haul.

28 Helms Depp @ $60 each. 8 Jabba's Palace @ $44 each. 11 Scorpion Pyramid @ $25 each.

28 Helms Depp @ $60 each.

8 Jabba's Palace @ $44 each.

11 Scorpion Pyramid @ $25 each.

LOL Helm's deep for 60$ !!!!!!

Earlier this month, I found an Ewok Attack for $5.98 at Target because it wasn't in their system and per standard store rule that was the lowest they could offer. I also picked up an Attack on Weathertop for $41.97 at the same time. At the beginning of this year I found a lone Seaside House for $35 at Walmart. Around the end of last year I found some of the Minotaurus game for half off at Target which is the only Lego I've ever seen for even around 50% off in all my life. They also had the Planets for 50% off too but I didn't need anymore than I already had. That's about it for me really. Barely enough deals ever found to make a foot note in what I find compared to about everybody else's. I guess I do have my odd moments of dumb luck but certainly nothing consistent or in abundance. For anyone with stores that like giving discounts at all to their customers, consider yourself lucky and be grateful.

LOL Helm's deep for 60$ !!!!!!

I found a Helm's Deep for $29.99, and another at the same Walmart a week and a half later for $25.00. So I got two for $55.00 technically.

Imperial Shuttle NIDB for $126.

Insanity! I think I'd do a flip.

I got 2 of the original Republic Gunships for $45 each. Later sold them for $250 each.

Not that impressive but around two months ago got a Toy Shop and The Burrow in MISB condition for $ 150 in total. Considering they were going for a hell of a lot more on eBay already it was a decent find!

Years ago I found a load of UCS Batmobiles on clearance at walmart for $15 each, original price $75. Let's just say I needed a cart that day...

My three best deals:

Just picked up a Blockade Runner 10019 for $80. Ended up being almost complete.

A few years ago I got a used but complete with box and instructions 4561-1: RAILWAY EXPRESS for $3 at Goodwill.

Also this spring I bought a Craigslist lot for $360 including a minty Market St Modular with instruction plus about $1000 worth of other legos. The Market St was ziplock bagged and ready to build and I sold it hours after building and listing to someone in Australia for $780 via ebay!

3 death stars for $200 each. from craigslist.

My Dad found 4 POTC Queen Anne's for $20 each at a Walmart.

My favorite buy was because of the percentage off. 28 x Batwing Battle over Gotham City for 81% off @ $6.50. Granted I'll probably have to wait a lifetime before they gain much value but at over 80% off I had to buy them.

Best used deal I got was a Santa Fe Engine w/ 5 cars & 100 pieces Track- $5.00.

Best new was probably Black Pearl at Walmart for $49.50 just after Christmas.

Those are flipping prices for sure!

Some of the deals in this thread are just amazing. I have yet to find an item on clearance for more than 30%...

Recently I bought:

4 Uruk-hai Army @ $5

2 Mines of Moria @ $25

2 The Mine @ $50

3 Weathertops @ $35

I was vibrating when I left the store, deal hunting is addictive!

I know right?? The rare instances that I do find a clearance deal, there are certainly not 30 or 40 of the sets sitting on the shelf.

My best deals were a clearance from my local supermarket, they had a bunch of LEGO's a 50% off to empty their shelves. Picked up 3 Technic logging trucks as well as a 4x4 Technic crawler all at half price :)

I'm not one to usually go around calling bullsh*t on great deals... But to my knowledge, Lego does not supply Technic sets to supermarkets. Maybe you're in a different country? Again, no offense is meant. Unless you're lying lol.
