I see no reason why to keep both Ecto sets on store shelves, but I'm not LEGO soo..

prob good.  it's no longer needed.  if star wars taught us anything with the MF, x-wing, tie-fighter, and now the death star....lego doesn't mind leaving shelves empty for 6+ months before new sets (refreshes) arrive for a film. 

now if 21108 is a slow seller, it could remain on available until the film arrives but i think the set is still popular.

I think 21108 will be officially retired by the time the new set hits the market. Having two Ghostbusters Ecto-1's in production with the similar names is just going to create confusion
