There might be a new Ecto 2 to go with the film and the new HQ. If that turns out to be the case, Lego certainly wouldn't carry on producing it

Yep 21108 is the gateway drug to HQ and other large lego sets for adults with disposable income. No chance it gets retired anytime soon IMO.

back in stock in the EU but limit 2 like Birds. Wall E is now limit 1 and TBBT 5. These are very low limits for Europe.

On the other hand, when Pet Shop returned to the EU LEGO Shop at Home it first returned with limit 2. Then after a while it changed to limit 5 with the default 'Available Now' qualification. And now it's on back-order with expected ship date of 13 November, but still with an order limit of 5 !

Whatever we can think of it, the stock-management of the EU Warehouse and the way TLG communicates about it is definitely confusing!  

This may get the 7965 treatment. Be discontinued before the new movie to be updated with the new figures...

Yes but I think that's unlikely.

What speaks in favor for the ideas set is the great box and manual. I'd be suprisded to see them releasing a new version of Ecto-1.

7965 is a totally different thing. They had to come up with a new version sooner or later. After so many different versions have been released in the past this has been rather clear for most people I guess. Investors only hoped that the period inbetween would be about 2 years.

Also: If you compare both sets, the new MF and the predecessor you can see some nice updates that I appeciate with the new set while the old one is still good enough so that people who bought it for the normal price don't need to be upset.

People who bought it like 2 months before the new one was released for 50€/$ more than the new one might not have been too happy though.

Good to be in Germany. Just ordered another 6 sets with 10% discount! Now I'm sitting on 22 beautiful ecto's [emoji16][emoji108]🏻! I think this set rocks and hope it retires before the firehouse is released!

We just have to be aware that it could also have something to do with the Lego shortage. But that should be an european issue only. So if in the US it is showing the signs as well we'd better suit-up and bust the remaining ecto's.

Unfortunately I guess our spanish guy is right with 21108, I try to sell my stack this XMAS for a little profit, because this set will take ages to appriciate because of oversupply...

All depends on when they retire it but seeing people with hundreds of popular and supposedly limited edition Jurassics undercutting each other as if it was their last day on earth doesn´t bode at all well.

is now sellling for $225 on ebay and cheapest price on amazon is $249.  a year from now, $300 easily.  

the new MF - its on sale at amazon for $141. a year from we'll be getting them on clearance for $99.

 

21108 will do great even if there is a new Ecto.  people aren't going to dump the original ecto for the jar-jar binks version.
