May 8, 201312 yr I know a lot of people are into Legos for the the money, but what Legos if had no investment purposes? Would you still buy them?
May 8, 201312 yr Did that for years before getting into investing just a few months ago. Maybe I would buy them less often but that's about it.
May 8, 201312 yr Author Yeah I think it would make trading boring in a way but I would still definitely buy them!
May 8, 201312 yr I know I like some of the minifigures for the value, but if they didn't have any value I would probably still collect them.
May 8, 201312 yr I know a lot of people are into Legos for the the money, but what Legos if had no investment purposes? Would you still buy them? I think the vast majority of investors began as builders and collectors. For many, it is a way to fund the building. I'm sure there are many, however, that have no interest whatsoever in Lego sets themselves, just the $$$$. Which I don't blame at all, and am a bit envious, they don't worry about opening and building their sets. My son and I build just as much as I tuck away. If a set needs moved along, it gets sold for usually a good chunk of the original purchase price, rinse and repeat.
May 8, 201312 yr Yes. As I said in another thread, I am a builder first, then a collector, then an investor.
May 8, 201312 yr Yes. As I said in another thread, I am a builder first, then a collector, then an investor. I am exactly the same, in that extact order ;)
May 8, 201312 yr Author Is this some sort of trick question? Unless its tricky for you to answer than no!
May 8, 201312 yr Author I am exactly the same, in that extact order I'm pretty much the same except I am a collector, builder and then investor.
May 8, 201312 yr Of course! I'm a collector first and investor second. Using my profits from investing to fuel my own collection. If There was no money to be made I'd still buy for my collection but I'd have to be a lot more selective and miss out on some that I wanted.
May 8, 201312 yr Does a chicken have lips? I'd buy LEGO for myself but not in the same quantities I do now.
May 8, 201312 yr I am exactly the same, in that extact order I'm pretty much the same except I am a collector, builder and then investor. I am the same way. Collector, builder, investor.
May 8, 201312 yr Above all else I'm a collector. The toy will always have value to me. I secretly hope someday the market tanks and I can get everything I want for great prices.

May 8, 201312 yr I think the only major difference would be quantity purchased... Cannot see anyone buying 10, 15, 20 or even 40 of same set if the investing aspect is removed. As for myself, I am an collector/even builder first then little investor.
