Is a 4 foot by 6 foot table big enough for a train and city?

Featured Replies

I haven't bought a lego train set yet so I don't know the radius, will my table be big enough for it and a bunch of modular buildings? Thanks.

It's possible, it'll be a short track but possible! May need to be a little creative depending on how many Modulars you have.

Exactly! It is feasible, but your track will be very limited.

So maybe should I get one that's 6x8? What's ideal?

6x8 would be good. In terms of ideal, it all depends on how big a city/train layout you want. I will warn you though, once you start building it, it becomes addicting, and you'll want to continuously add more and more, which will lead to more tables etc. lol

I just bought the Lone Ranger train set and the oval track measures 28" x 38". It is just a small basic oval. This is not a powered set but I'm sure the track is a similar size.

It wouldn`t take much to make this a powered set. I own the Holiday Express, but it`s all boxed up now and has never been a part of a major set up. 6x8 would be a good size I`d say based on the many photos of other people`s set ups, but it will entirely depend on how much you have to put into your lay out.
