Army building with LEGO is nothing new, but i'm curious who has ventured outside of the standard Army builders (Clone Troopers, Falcons, Orcs, etc .. ) and has amassed an odd collection.
I will start by sharing mine . . . What do you all have that is unexpected?

I can’t see your pic for some reason. I only have boring plain old Falcons.

Interesting. I have 40 horses with barding 20 of each from the lion knights Castle but they are still in the PAB bags. Never thought of doing something like this. 

The horses with barding is something I have considered for "Army" building.

That was a wonderful lot.  Thank you again for all those goodies, they were truly mint!  Sadly, that did not contain any unitron.  It did however include the base plates you see on display and few of the Blacktron minifigures.

The conversation reminded me of this super mega ultra duper adjective massive Exploriens army. One part impressed, second part what the heck sort of galactic space war is he building up to? I did not realize the Exploriens motto was "To search the stars for proof of alien life ....then proceed to blow the ever-living crap out of it." Haha.

And to think the guy had even more Exploriens minifigures sitting in a plastic tub to the side. On a numbers game, the army is impressive as I said. The overall grand scope of them all however, I am kind of whelmed. The vehicles with their included characters have a purpose whereas the yards of astronauts at the ready are just standing there purposelessness. There isn't an armada of dropships large enough to house all those troopers let alone an enemy force big enough to take on.

I am not meaning to discredit the builder. And I know what I am saying is influenced by my personal preferences of having a smaller focused force where every character has its place in a scene. Also, I have seen so many large-scale dioramas filled with people all doing something making this less interesting outside of the sheer numbers to me. Chalk this up to my inner critic coming out. If anything, this massive chapter of marines makes me appreciate my small squads more, strange as that my sound.

Aside from that tangent, I believe he did a fairly good job on the spacecrafts although looking back at the original theme these could have incorporated some more black parts for detailing. I realize now how much the Exploriens color scheme is awfully close to the third wave of Space Police and an inverse of Blacktron II. (I freakin' loved Space Police III.)

I started collecting bardings about 6 years ago. The old stuff is really expensive now to get and hard to find without clips broken. I'm so glad I could get new ones now from PAB. Everytime I go to Legoland Germany I will hit a bunch of the horses, iirc they are 2-3euros a piece. One day I shall do the Ride of the Rohirrim scene. 

I wish a I had a Stormtrooper army like this one.

I ran out of space minifigures to display, so... Muppets from Space.

Basically a lore video covering five custom armies made for a LEGO zombie monster dystopian future something or another horror series called Grey Horizon (The Void War). Nice kit bashing overall and some fan designed accessories.

 

 

A horde that makes my heart pump with pride. The Ninjago snake headgear from some years back look really good here.

 

 

 

An army of MOCs based around the Series 12 Space Miner minifigure.
