I was walking around a local toy shop today and bumped into 50

Last month wal-mart had them priced at $38.99 in the stores. Needless to say they sold out in no time (probably due to the fact the error in pricing was posted here). For a few weeks they were still listed in Wal-mart's system at the $39 price. Last week Wal-mart finally corrected the error and they went back up to $89....and the set is still sitting on the shelves now that they've been restocked. I snagged one at Target for $70 on a special sale they had before Thanksgiving. That was the cheapest price I have seen for 'The Mine' set anywhere (bar Wal-Mart's screw-up). I would have loved to get a few sets at Wal-mart's price error but unless you were RIGHT there when it was discovered then you lost out (and I mean RIGHT there) a day or even hours later and you were SOL. The set I have is going to be a gift for my daughter this xmas. Personally I think the $89 price point is a bit high but that's probably just me. ebay has them at stupid prices right now ($129 average starting for buy it now). That's insane for this set. But I guess because it's xmas sellers are figuring they can gouge parents because 'they HAVE to have it for little Johhny'

Around here at least this set has been impossible to find since before Christmas. It was in the top 20 on Amazon's best sellers list for a while. I personally think it is a very unique set and once it is gone I don't think there will be anything similar to replace it for a long while. Currently it can only be found at Amazon and LEGO LEGO Shop at Home I believe. It is $85 at amazon.co.uk. What does everyone think about this set?

I bought 9 of them when Walmart had them for $40 a few months before Christmas and I'm getting $110 for them now. I have 3 left. I have only seen a few left at Walmarts and they raised the price to $99. I guess that was a roll up and not a roll back. They should have roll up signs with a sad face.

Ouch. Well now getting them for $85 doesn't sound like such a great deal.

That $40 deal was a price mistake and won't happen again. My nephew really enjoyed getting that huge Lego set for Christmas though. I still have 2 remaining.

The only thing stopping me at this point is that this is a 2012 set that could either be around for a while yet or go on sale further in the future. $85 is right at that price where I question it. $10 cheaper and I would be all over it.

I agree. I think this set is a winner. Plus it may not be around after spring. I just don't know if 12% is enough of a discount. I think I will wait. I already got 2 at 20% off a little while back.

Definitely a great set. Sold a bunch of them last Xmas. It was a top seller for sure on Amazon. It came out of nowhere and stuck with being a top seller.

I think this is a good set also. I just can't start buying any more different themes right now...way too $$$$

Lego retail Order Form says Spring Only.

I have heard that some other Lego Mining sets are being retired this June. Is this right, or am I just listening to the wrong crowd/source?

I do know that 4202 Mining Truck is already retired.

4204 is a great looking set.

I saw one of these pop up on CL for 45. It was gone that same day before I could react.
