As part of their official plans for SDCC 2012, Lego is going to unveil the Rancor Monster Pit set on Saturday. I can honestly say that this has been my dream set since I was a kid and now as an AFOL I can afford to buy it. I wonder if it will connect to the new Jabba's Palace set and make use of the trap door. I figure since The Urukai Army set and Helm's Deep connect that their might be a chance of this connectivity. What do you guys think?

Rancor Monster Pit

we are paying for the rancor fig in this one. i saw it on display at the lego store in the MOA, and it is pretty sweet. even though it may go down a bit more,$50 is a good price to me. i picked up 5.

The Rancor is definitely sweet, much better than I thought it would be. The fact that it can grab minifigs with its claws and fit one in its mouth is really cool, just ask any kid who plays with it, or his dad:) Obviously the rest of the set was going to be boring, it's a freaking rock pit.

The Rancor by itself is going for $15 to $30 on ebay. All the minifigs together are $30 to $40, so $49 isn't too bad of a price. The problem I'm finding is the more Legos I buy the pickier I am on which set to buy and at what price. ;-)

I grabbed one a day or so ago at the $51 price. Can I complain and get a refund of the difference on yesterday's purchase or should I buy another at $44 and return the $51 one?
