I saw an article about this and I decided I should share it with you guys/gals. There is a new animated Lego movie coming out called.... "The Lego Movie" by the Warner Bros. (I'm pretty sure they could have came up with a better name.) (: Anyways, the movie is slated to be shown in U.S. theaters on February 7th 2014. (Shown in 2D and 3D.) The cast includes Will Arnett from "Arrested Development", Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson from "Taken 2", Alison Brie from "Community", Nick Offerman from "Parks and Recreation", and Elizabeth Banks from the "Hunger Games." The directors/writers are Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. (21 Jump Street, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.)

Considering the popularity of Lego and the star-filled cast, I think this movie will do great. What is your opinion about the release of a Lego movie?

The second movie trailer has a quick 1 second shot of a Ship.  Hopefully they will be releasing another pirate ship.  Nothing put out there yet, but maybe in the second round.

I can see people buying bulk lego deals in 10 years and wondering what the parts from these sets could possibly be, with all the various colors!

They are on LEGO Shop at Home. They will be released on January 1, 2014 along with some other sets.

Thanks guys.....well my vote is for garbage!! Pretty bad IMO.

I guess the Super Cycle Chase is the best out of the lot. The police car, thing, is pretty cool, almost like a tank, but the rest of the set is pretty meh. Other sets are really over-colored and have too much going on in them.

Well, ya'll can kiss my butt. I'm buying all of them!

I have a feeling that once the movie is out and we can understand the the back story and the locations...that these sets will come up in alot of ppl's eyes.  Same with the CMF line.  Like "where is my pants guy," sounds like hilarious plucky comic relief and the once people come to know and love these characters then they will sell like cakes. 

 

It looks to me that the movie is spanning the Lego universe.  Appealing to both the old and the new.  Hopefully a massive wave of AFOL's will be spawned when they take their kids to the movie and then the Lego group creates both fever in children and conductibility in the AFOL crowd.

 

I am excited for the movie and will be anxiously waiting to both see it and it's preliminary box office numbers

They just put them up on LEGO Shop at Home. They look pretty cool to me, and unless there are multiple sequels planned probably another one wave theme like Monster Fighters. Good for investing?

A little too early to tell, and it probably mainly depends on how well received the film is. Regardless, I do like them personally as they are so outside the box.

My Target has a few of the Lego the Movie sets for sale. Box looks great but did not purchase. Didnt see a great way to flip since they will be available in a little over a week.
