I saw an article about this and I decided I should share it with you guys/gals. There is a new animated Lego movie coming out called.... "The Lego Movie" by the Warner Bros. (I'm pretty sure they could have came up with a better name.) (: Anyways, the movie is slated to be shown in U.S. theaters on February 7th 2014. (Shown in 2D and 3D.) The cast includes Will Arnett from "Arrested Development", Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson from "Taken 2", Alison Brie from "Community", Nick Offerman from "Parks and Recreation", and Elizabeth Banks from the "Hunger Games." The directors/writers are Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. (21 Jump Street, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.)

Considering the popularity of Lego and the star-filled cast, I think this movie will do great. What is your opinion about the release of a Lego movie?

Was everyone aware that the LEGO movie was not stop motion or was I the only one who though it was?

I was just hoping to add in the last sets currently available for The Lego Movie onto the thread poll for people to choose but figures something went haywire and reset the whole thing. Whatever. Anywho, the poll is now fixed with the two main questions remaining of "How many times have you seen The Lego Movie?" followed by "What is your favorite set?" which is based on your personal choice and not really about investment potential.

I'm not sure but I think I've watched it 5 times (or maybe 6 ?).

 

About the favorite set I wasn't sure, maybe the 70807 Metalbeard's Duel because it's a "UCS" construction, or maybe the 70810 Metalbeard's Sea Cow because it seems huge and cool (haven't built it yet), but nah... my favorite is definitely the 70816 Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! just because I was a lego-space fan when I was a kid. It's like if Lego created THE set I wanted as a child, and also as an AFOL, as a tribute to the good old days in the 70's/80's.

Haven't seen this asked but....  

Would you hold onto your Lego Movie sets until the second one comes out?  

I mean I personally am not all that impressed by returns yet with exception of construct-o-mech and double decker. (I didnt have funds for Sea Cow at the time!)

Any sage advice or opinions?

Depends if you can hold the stock till then (2019). If ever selling prices rise until then, I would part with the stock.

I was, but with it (the sequel) being pushed back, again, I’m selling them off.  They’re all moving at double my buy in now, so it’s an easy enough decision for me to make.

if you can double up on this theme, except for a few sets, I don't think the new movie is going to spur a ton of interest in most of these.

I went into a local toy store at the mall yesterday and found a bunch of 70809's (Evil lair) along with some other sets I haven't seen ever but they marked it up high even though everything was 25% off, hopefully at some point it will be 50% in a few weeks !
