I saw an article about this and I decided I should share it with you guys/gals. There is a new animated Lego movie coming out called.... "The Lego Movie" by the Warner Bros. (I'm pretty sure they could have came up with a better name.) (: Anyways, the movie is slated to be shown in U.S. theaters on February 7th 2014. (Shown in 2D and 3D.) The cast includes Will Arnett from "Arrested Development", Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson from "Taken 2", Alison Brie from "Community", Nick Offerman from "Parks and Recreation", and Elizabeth Banks from the "Hunger Games." The directors/writers are Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. (21 Jump Street, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.)

Considering the popularity of Lego and the star-filled cast, I think this movie will do great. What is your opinion about the release of a Lego movie?

  • Did you try selling them some of the sets out of the trunk of your car? I hear they sell like hot cakes that way.

I believe they are set to coincide with the DVD/BluRay release date

Isn't it kind of odd to be receiving the second wave of Lego Movie sets after the movie is released? (Unless they are released within the next week) Doesn't Lego normally release all the sets before the movie its based after comes out?

I don't really see it being weird at all unless somehow people will already forget the movie in a month or so, and some part of it could be what LegoManiacc just mentioned above me about coinciding with the home video release.

i got a pair of advanced screening tickets to the movie for this saturday. SUPAR EXCITED.

I won 4 tickets through LEGOLAND Discovery Center here in Dallas for Saturday also. Bad thing is, we are a family of 6. Guess the Wife and Baby get to stay home. Bazinga

All I can say about the movie was: EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!!!!!!!

NO SPOILERS

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!! THERE ARE MINIFIGURE IN THIS FILM, ALSO ON IS CALLED EMMIT, AND THE GUY WITH THE LOLLIPOP POP STICK IS VOICED BY CREAMY VOICE OF GOODNESS MORGAN FREEMAN!  On a more major point, you'll never believe which cast member dies. hehe. I got to see the movie this afternoon, at a press screening. It's a fun, funny movie. Stomping, Also the 3D is abit last gen. Poke at screen etc. But the perspective shots are nice. BENNY ROCKS!!!

I watched an advanced screening yesterday as well. I loved it! Anyone else have thr everything is awesome song stuck in their head? I went to eat tacos and then the lego store right after watching the movie lol.

The Nuremburg Toy Fair pics are flooding in as we can see some nice close-ups of the summer sets for The Lego Movie here.

Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!!! I want that set. Now, I wonder what the MSRP is going to be for that set?

George Takei voice... Ooh My.

Loving that space ship.

It's got the 80s look but with new pieces. :)

I preordered the game at GS today and they gave me the western emmet minifig. I don't think I am going to pickup the game now. I believe the minimum preorder amount is $5. Now I can just get the walmart copy for the DJ and go to regal to watch the movie for sleepy.

So if u plan on going on Friday to see the movie what is the best deal on table as far as worthwhile giveaway

Do you have an amc membership? That's the only way to get the robo poly for free. Regal has a free membership for sleepy emmet.

So, drop $5 and you can get the ploybag? Hmmm.....

That's how it worked for me but I don't think the guy was suppose to give me the polybag until I picked up the game. I figure western emmet might cost more on ebay since it's only from GS while the robo and sleepy emmet are at the movie theaters as well as a retail chain.

Best Buy has their own pre-order special where you can get Pajamas Emmet as well as $7.50 in movie cash to see the film in theaters.

Didn`t realize you could extend the wings on the spaceship! That is really cool! I can`t recall anything, but has Lego ever done anything like that feature in the past?

I saw the movie tonight and was instantly compared to Lord Business by my other half.

The movie is a lot like the sets in a disjointed fashion but the spaceship and the boat looked really neat.

I am going to head to BB when they open. Hopefully they let you buy the sleepy emmet polybag separately. They typically have a price on all their promo crap so perhaps it'll be something reasonable like $5...

Edit: nevermind the game comes out on Friday. Damn!

Is the movie more for kids? A friend of mine who is in her 40s said she fell asleep in it.

Where movies like Toy Story Nemo etc can be enjoyed by adults can this one be as well?
