I don't like how Lego is starting to take collectable minifigure accessories and putting them in other themes, Like they took the Tomahawk Warrior's axe from series 10 and put it in some of the lone ranger sets and the lederhosen guy's pretzel from series 8 and put it in the hobbit hole. What do you guys think?

I don't know if having some accessories pop up in other sets will greatly reduce demand for either (the minifig or the set) so I'm kinda 'meh' about it.

I don't think it makes that much of a difference. Unless you are a seller selling the accessories/figures on eBay or Bricklink, I don't think it should bother you that much. Besides, there are just too many accessories out there now to use all of them up, so some of them will keep a certain degree of rarity. If I had to guess, most people haven't yet caught on that the accessories are being included in other sets, so if TLG doesn't do this for too many figures, then we should be good. But it's pretty hard to predict what TLG will do next...Now if the figures AND accessories were in a set, then I would start to get worried, but as it hasn't happened yet, it's no biggy.

Considering what it costs Lego to create a new mould, I have no issue with them reusing some pieces.

The key word is some pieces. If they started doing that with majority of the pieces then it would turn out bad. It is economical for TLG to reuse molds since the molds cost thousands of dollars for each one. If TLG made a new mold for every accessory then we would probably have to pay more money for the set/minifigure. (More new accessories=Bigger cost to buy the set.)

I actually wished more of the unique accessories came up in other things (which is starting to happen more often).

I do want the characters themselves to stay unique otherwise it defeats the whole purpose of collectibility.

I saw a video of the upcoming 2013 sets somewhere and it showed a picture of a Holiday set and the Santa from Collectable Minifigures series 8 was on the roof. You're not kidding. I just went to check on the set image for this years Advent Calendar and sure enough there his is on the roof. Santa from Series 8. This could hurt the value of the original Minifigures character entirely. I wonder how many will list the sets Santa as the Series 8 one, or vice versa.

I agree it ruins the exclusivity of some parts but this is the most cost effective way that Lego can justify manufacturing new molds by incorporating them into other sets.
