In the Star Wars: Character Encyclopedia you have Han Solo at the end of "A New Hope" wearing a golden medal.

And in the Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary you have Luke also from "A New Hope" with a medal.

I store my han solo medal minfig in carbonite......I tested it on Luke first though.

Oh yeah. I do that with all my minifigures, it's the only way to go.

A medal figure is a figure that comes one of the Star Wars books or movies. It is supposed to be celebrating the release of the respective item. There are 3 medal figures out right now, Celebration Luke, Celebration Han Solo, and the new Celebration Darth Vader. None are retired yet, but I think that the book with Luke in it may EOL soon, but as all EOL's, it is pure speculation.

I picked up 2 of these dvd's on Amazon.ca for $7.99 CAN today, basically I needed Darth Vader mini figure for a MOC and this was probably the cheapest/easiest way without buying him separately online...the dvd is just extra haha. Not bothered about the 'medal' variation or not. The second set I'll keep for 'investing'.

I like the way you think! One for me, one to keep (I guess another one for me!) is a common investing strategy. You sound like you haven't left us anything to teach you! ;)

The only reason anyone was going to buy this was the Darth Vader, so at least TLG priced it dirt cheap.

Found these at Sams club for $7.99 only bought the 2 they had and opened one. Holy hell it is actually pretty funny. Kids and I love when Darth Maul arrives.

I got a good kick out of this. Chewbacca coming out of the bathroom with "toilet paper foot" was pretty funny.
