Introducing Brick Classifieds and More Data!!

Introducing Brick Classifieds!!!

We are getting closer to releasing what we will call the beta version of the new Brick Classifieds feature here on BrickPicker.com and are very excited about it. To share in that excitement we have decided to release a short introduction video that will give a little more insight as to what we are doing. Our goal with Brick Classifieds is to give buying, selling and trading options that will hopefully work for just about everybody. If you are a big eBay fan, you can advertise your listings for FREE! Same for those of you are prefer to sell on Amazon.com. Within a few short clicks, you will be able to have your listing on our site so that other BrickPicker members can find the sets they are looking for.

In addition to posting your eBay and Amazon listings for FREE, you will be able to post local and personal LEGO listings for a one time, small fee...usually a dollar or less. There are no expensive commissions to be paid, yet you will have access to a quality feedback system, transaction, payment and shipping modules and other features. Most of all, you get the advantage of advertising your sets on a very active LEGO specific website, to thousands of engaged and interested BrickPicker members. Jeff and I are hoping that the low advertising fees and the active and growing BrickPicker community will be the catalyst to a very successful LEGO marketing option that will benefit everyone.

More LEGO Data!!

We are also very happy to announce that we have come to an agreement with our eBay data provider to get localized data feeds from the following territories: United Kingdom, Germany and Australia. Having these datasets on a monthly basis will allow our international members to get more accurate values of their LEGO collection. It will also give everyone as a whole a much better outlook at the LEGO secondary market globally.

We feel that these two huge changes will help to make BrickPicker.com the best resource for LEGO pricing, collecting, buying, selling and trading!

My goodness. Take your time. I can't beleive you even have to make an excuse over this. This site is obviously a project and passion away from normal work, as is LEGO investing for most of us.

I am not a fan of Craigslist, so I hope people don't look at it that way. I think you will see its different than that.Nor am I. Bricklink is more organized and better than Craigslist is, which is saying something. I get Craigslist is for a multitude of items besides Lego but trying to find one decent nearby listing is a royal pain. I'll take Bricklink any day of the week.

Let's see. Basically with the Brick Classifieds, you only pay $1 or less to advertise any size set, have tools to calculate shipping before the transaction, a simple feedback system, and absolutely no commission and/or hidden fees whatsoever. Sounds like a brilliant mix between Craigslist and Bricklink, without all the garbage.

This is gonna be EPIC!

Yes, we are very excited about this too. We know it will be a massive improvement to the set guide overall and really make it useful to a huge population of LEGO fans, collectors, investors, etc.

Will you be able to switch between countries to see what your portfolio is worth there? When will the international feature become available? Love your work guys. This is a fantastic site, and it's the first one I check every morning always scouting for a deal!

This is my favorite site right now, I really can't afford lego so I'm thinking of making a mini-business based of lego so I can finally afford them, looking forward to buy here in the near future :).

I should start getting the data next week. Then I will have to figure out the best way to separate and integrate. The one issue I have to sort out is the German data. All the listings are in, well, German :) So I may need to hire someone to translate 10,000 set titles for me :)

Brickpoints for Translations sounds great!

Or you could use Google Chrome, it can auto translate web pages. :) Besides, aren't the numbers the same? ;)

You probably haven't used it for school ever before, but teachers always tell you to never use google translate. It's so bad!!!

It worked for me to buy from amazon Spain. And it does not change the buttons, which made the German site tricky. :)

Oh well...Forget the German eBay auctions. Too much work to translate. I'll have to tell Jeff to use the Chinese eBay market. ;-)
