I think if come christmas time, that guy puts all 200 up for sale or whatnot with a say.........1K price tag, it could make panic buying for the other hundred ppl selling their 1 or 2 get snatched up worried the price is going to go up.  Could help everyone else???

I think it's highly unlikely that could be pulled off.  We fluctuate about 125-150 listings on Ebay at the moment.  If he jacks up the price, all the lower bids need to be snatched up first.  You also have your incremental sellers come in as the listings get bid.  I don't think we can get everyone on Ebay to collude to put in a higher ask price.  With the sheep behavior on Ebay, you see people being okay pairing ways from 375 to 400 all in right now.  It'll take some time for it to slowly go back up.

I agree completely. I sold another today for 385 shipped slow to a previous buyer in NJ for cash non auction. I predict the price to cash to low 300s shipped at Christmas. Only 3 left. Going try and dump 1 for 350....and holding 2....one to build...one for long term hold. I cleared nearly 2 thousand from selling these already.....happy camper.

Only 1 (one) of the crawlers I sold was for building...rest went to investors. Guy that bought one to build emailed me that he was going to get another to build and keeping mine for display in the box it was so perfect. I sold him another for cash. So...he might have been either a shy investor...or turned into one 3 days later.

If they drop to 250 or 275 shipped...I am a buyer. I still think intrinsic value of this set misb is $300.

Here's my prediction for the selling price of these on ebay during most of December 2013: US $275

Mos, you basing that on supply continuing to increase, investor funds drying up, or combo of both?

Both. Lots of peole are buying these on time. Once the bills come due...from now until another 40 days or so...there will be a race to the bottom. Once the people with money see them drop from 400 to 300...they will get nervous and cash out...happy with the hundy profit...until the realize all the fees.....this will bring the market down to 275ish shipped....netting the seller nothing after fees.

I think there will be a large supply of these this Christmas. Eventually they'll go back up and do well, but it won't be right away. I think a lot of people are counting on making a fortune with these this December, but I don't think it's going to happen. I think $275 is the lowest it can go without the seller really losing anything on the deal. Maybe it will even fall to $250 when people just want to unload their stock.

Great analysis.  That will be a dream if it goes down that much.  My money is there are plenty of weak hands since it was all over slick deal that got a lot of non-core Lego flippers involve.  We'll wait and see.

I hope it goes up instead of down.  I'd like to unload my last two and call it a good pickup.  I can't see it going down that low....even with all the investors, we've spoken about it before......not many made, exclusive, expensive set, decent build, well made box.  Even if it were to drop a little, I can't see it happening for long. It's on a lot of peoples radar lately.

$275 across the board seems a bit low. I could see 10 or 12 selling that low, but I think the hype alone will convince most sellers not to unload at that price.

Anyway the real money in Lego comes around in January.

I agree - too many people will be looking to get rid of these once we get closer.

Only thing that makes me think otherwise is that some investors may grab some of them at $275. So it may stay just a bit higher. I would think more around $325. But who knows.

My two are not going anywhere for years.

Remember back when all those investors gobbled them up at "buy it now" 350?  No way they drop them that low.  They will hold them if they have to just as we hold half the other stuff we buy.

Will be interesting to see for sure. I do think there will be a slight B-wing effect - non investor types who jumped on a deal and found they couldn't sell it for what they thought, so they unloaded it. B-Wing is starting to creep back up of course, only 4 months later. I'm holding mine as well, I think in the long run will be glad I didn't flip them.

exactly, and like with other things, people in the future will forget that for 1 day it was 50% off...(not to mention a lot of people wern't able to get it for that price even though they knew it was happening)

Well, here's my contribution to put this thread again on the front page of BP.

As I live in Spain, I have been checking regularly the price for 41999 on eBay Spain and Germany. Most sets are being sold close to 400

I should not have brought up the topic of that 200 crawlers guy. Now I should tempt more 41999 holders to open and build their sets, to reduce market supply...

The building process was extremely enjoyable and the 41999 is really the most beautiful LEGO Technic car.

Keep posting pictures so more people open it. I opened one of mine and it is a great set. I have one left in the box and it looks nice sitting on the shelf, but I can't wait for it to go back up so I can get a few more sets. $375-$400 right now on eBay. Creeping back slowly.

the overall hype has gone done, i feel people who bought them were looking for them, and now its a  collectors market until christmas - i sold 4 of mine and got some $1,800. I have 4 more, including 3 original in a original shipping box. should be interesting to see what they go for around that time. I don't think i am going to sell though. I have 4, and thats 4 for the long haul
