I would assume he is buying them for $400 - $500 and flipping them for $600. This seems a more likely scenario than sitting on $200k worth but I could be wrong.

For anyone concerned about the market for these I sold 6 in one big lot on eBay last night for $2280. It sold in less than 12hrs.

They are not being sold. They are warehoused, next to his Ferrari.  My last email to him a couple days ago was thanking me for sending so many people his way with crawlers for sale--and many were taking $300 plus shipping--but not to give his name out anymore--as he wasn't buying more.  Although I mentioned I had just bought 6 more, and he offered to buy my last 10 for $400 each if I covered the shipping....so I guess he still has some dry powder.

Mark bought two from me yesterday.  I picked up an additional three more at Hillsdale Mall and Valley Fair Mall, CA yesterday.  Hillsdale still had three more after I left

Depends on the store. Sometimes they will allow you to do that and sometimes they don't.

i opened up a 2nd vip card when trying to get additional crawlers.  i called lego customer service if they could combine my cards and they did w/o question.  points were added to my main account within 10 mins.

These things are everywhere. 2 per customer limit in Peabody. Got 2, wife got 2. One winter set free with each purchase. Didn't want to press my luck asking to split into 2 orders. They had another 6 on shelf.

No, everyone just assumed the early shipments were all 20,000. I bet the first shipments before the most recent restock weren't even half of the production run.

If that was the case (which I doubt), what would Lego put on the licence plates?  The original run with EK xxxxx of 20,000 will still be worth a lot more.

3rd Party sellers on Amazon.com have dropped their prices to $399.99 if anyone is interested...
