Minifig display case alternatives

I saw this one and a lightbulb went off in my head. All you would need to do is turn the case sideways, and you would have an almost perfect minifig display. Technically you can leave it as is and still have 1.75 inches in height per slot. But sideways would look nice and spaced out in a 'grand' sort of way. Thoughts?

I've never thought about using a Hot Wheels case, but that would actually work great!

Haha yeah I had thought about making a display case, but never did because I knew it would take a little time. Buying a hot wheels case saves this hassle!!

I like the hot wheel cases. I get my own at places like Michael's or Joanns Craft Stores. They usually have 40% off their display cases or coupons that bring them down to 40%. I use them for minifigures. The stands themselves usually cover up the golf ball indentions but this is what one of the cases looks like. If I think of it later I can post an image. At 25 bucks a piece they are really nice. http://www.amazon.com/Novelty-Display-Cabinet-Shadow-Cherry/dp/B005IHK7XA/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1364324349&sr=8-5&keywords=golf+display+case

Great idea...I've been thinking about making my own acrylic display like the ones that you see at the store but I would much rather just buy something pre-made assuming it looks decent.
