To the original post, I paid overs for the original AT-AT. I didn't expect to see it again.

I do have a Winter Toy Shop I was going to keep for myself, but if the prices keep going the way they are, well I will sell it off.

I wish I had the original AT-AT. It has always been on my wish list. And I think we could see the Toy Shop get into the upper $100s later this fall, maybe even hit $200, fingers crossed. Sorry, I love speculation and guessing future values ;)

I was gonna say, out of everybody you'd have all of us beat at this game, Ed!

I have bought many sets after EOL, for more than MSRP, and have made money on most of them. Take for instance the Cafe Corner. I paid $600 and it's worth almost double that. I bought the 7191 X-Wing for $300 and it has tripled. So it is an effective way to make money if the right sets are chosen.

About a third of my sets are from the secondary market. Many more will probably come in the future as well once I get more space. Fortunately, most of the sets I want are either going nowhere or may go down.

10217 Diagon Alley. Bought recently for $220. I just missed out on picking any of these up, as I only recently read through the Harry Potter books and realized the appeal of the sets. Based on the piece count and minifigs, I feel like this one still has plenty of room to grow. Trying to decide right now if I should do the same for the last Hogwarts Castle....guess I better decide soon...

Now when we talk Secondary Market are we just talking about paying over retail? I have bought quite a few items on the secondary market that were below retail. I'm not talking about drop shipping scams or stolen goods. You have to be patient and look for the good deals from reputable sellers or people just clearing out their old stuff that don't normally sell LEGO's. Stuff over retail I have bought are: Vaders Transformation and an original AAT. Both were pretty good deals but still above retail.

None yet as I started collecting recently. The one that I think I'm going to have to go secondary for is the Maersk Train. I've searched everywhere and can't find it.

I once paid 20.00 for a SW #7134 A-Wing Starfighter. That was right when I came out of my dark age and wanted to complete the hangar scene before the Battle of Endor.

10199 Winter Village Toy Shop (I think I paid the retail CAN price) 8129 AT-AT Walker (I think I paid it maybe 120% more that the retail CAN price) 10030 Star destroyer (piece by piece on BL) (it cost me a lot) 10179 Millennium Falcon (it cost me a lot)

I bought Taj Mahal few week back..and Imperial shuttles and maersk trains from TRU when BOGO was on and i think i was lucky in getting few even below retail

10199 Winter Village Toy Shop (I think I paid the retail CAN price)
