I really like the lego 9398 4x4. I think it'll be a great set after EOL. What does everyone else think. Also I failed to get in on the excavator before EOL. At the current price is it still worth it?

Aren't you mistaking ? It can't be a "discount" at that price, since the RRP is $129.99 on the lego shop.

I have bitten, and got one. As I am starting my technic diversification. First time I have tried the Asda click and collect service.

With click/collect, you can always reject on the spot if the box is damaged. I already have one of these built that I use the terrorise the cats in fhe garden and one boxed. I prefer it to the 41999 TBH.

It's infrared so not very far. Maybe 15 feet and you have to be pointing directly at the receiver.

It's slow enough that driving on flat concrete should not wear the tires too much, but I haven't tried. It does roll over quite easily when climbing obstacles though so be aware of that if you don't want it scuffed up.

It does, except 41999 has two additional power functions - the winch and the head lights.  All other power functions are the same between the two models.

I tried using the 20% coupon today (the one posted in daily deals), cashier scanned it, but then told me it wouldn't work on clearance items.  I'm sure whether it didn't take or if she was just following the rules.  I may try another TRU later today.
