75978 - Diagon Alley (2020)

That's a ton of minifigures, very cool set. My wife loves it.  I personally think this will sit on her shelf better than the huge castle, both of which she's eyeing, in a pick one or the other mindset.

Wow, that looks amazing - It also doesn't destroy the relevance of the original Diagon Alley.

This also leaves the other side of the street open for a future release.

Ollivander incoming, quickly sell yours 40289s

Nice. LEGO needs to release a standalone Gringotts Bank to compliment that Diagon Alley set

I would start building this one immediately! I love it. This would look so great in my office at a middle school.

Loving all the colors and small details captured in the set. Any rumors on the pricing now that this was seen in the wild?

This shouldn't affect the original Diagon Alley, but it definitely blows it out of the water.

I don't normally do day 1 purchases but I might pull the trigger on this. We did the studio tours last year and this brings back good memories!

Shhh.  I was told you're not allowed to ask for this type of thing.

But yes, more buildings, preferably new, would be awesome in this style.

Since I'm not a HP-phile, what other buildings would be missing from Diagon Alley proper that isn't included in this set?

basically 4 modulars halves and equivalent number of MFs...my "Price if Right" guess is $399

Does anyone know the U.S. release date?

Very popular on brickset this week.  It's impressive by how much it's in first place.

Mine shipped today, excited to build it.

I wonder how popular this set is in EU. Seems all HP sell out before DA, in order to get the promo.

Both DA and promo are still available.

Not directly related to this video but just putting the clues together: I have a feeling there is a certain raised probability to see Gringotts released as an add-on to Diagon Alley in 2021. Maybe this has already been talked about in this thread, I didn't read it all. At least to me, it looks totally dumb to leave the most popular building out of Diagon Alley - unless you release it separately at a later stage. Someone got the same feeling?

This is what it looks like when none of the stickers are applied.

Finally TOOS at LEGO Shop at Home...I think it's the only big set D2C this year to not be TOOS within the first week.

If it doesn't restock by Christmas may be the "it" gift

Who can compare their Daily Prophet door sticker to this picture so I know what color is correct? My original sticker set was way out of alignment and cut off some key elements. The replacement sheets seem much bolder, crisp and darker. But this is an extreme contrast... the light brown is "original" and the dark brown was on the replacement sheet. I will note aside from the color differences that the # at the top right of the sheet is different. 22637 on the new one and 138156A on the old one. All other info is the same, does anyone know much about that number on the top right of sheets? #'s on the bottom right are identical, 69367/6315082.

TOOS...I've already flipped this one and wish I had grabbed more.

I guess because of covid there aren't any local buyers in my area for LEGO this year. I let both of mine go for $380 each and they were still up on Offerup/CL/Facebook for a month before selling. Having similar issues with Disney Castles. I picked up 6 of them for $240 each and I cant even get $300 for them this year. For comparison the past thee years in a row I've sold 5-6 every November for $450+ so I'm not sure what is going on with my area.

Doesn't feel like people are buying the large sets right now. All of my cheaper ones are flying off the shelves, though. Only took me a week to unload the 20 Hagrids I had for $50 each locally.

Diagon Alley was a letdown for me, though, and the only saving grace was that the GWP + points brought my cost down nearly $100 on each.
