42113 - Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey **Cancelled**

"The LEGO Technic Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey was designed to highlight the important role the aircraft plays in search and rescue efforts.

"While the set clearly depicts how a rescue version of the plane might look, the aircraft is only used by the military. We have a long-standing policy not to create sets which feature real military vehicles, so it has been decided not to proceed with the launch of this product.

"We appreciate that some fans who were looking forward to this set may be disappointed, but we believe it’s important to ensure that we uphold our brand values."

Release date was August 1st. Canceled less than 2 weeks before release due to external pressures.

The boxes that manage to sneak out the back door are going to fetch quite a penny.

To give an American perspective... I live in Southern California.  MV-22s are flying overhead every day.  Honestly, they are damn cool to see.  I can see many a Marine that would want this set.

How many is a good result regarding stock lol.

Depends what day you ask! It'll be a different market by Wednesday.

Longer term, no-one has any idea where the market is going until all retailers (including overseas) have played their hand. And that's my prompt to avoid over-posting.

Happy to share intel over PM, but it is a 2 way street. 😉

I hit 3 today and all had none. Staff didn’t even know what I was talking about in 2 of them.

Not sure.  The price tag was there on the shelf but no sets.  Asked one of the staff and they just said they were surprised that they had all sold out.  Asked them to check in back but they had nothing.

Like the new brick separator ;)

Also are we anticipating any US stores to have these? I'm assuming Target, Walmart, and Amazon should have at least some.

I have no backing other than a gut feeling.  No.  They have pre orders for some of the new Harry Potter stuff on 8/15.  But no new technic stuff.

Also surely there was a limit on them at John Lewis, some guy managed to get 100 :(

how when they limit everything to 5

I managed to order some from Argos but they are due for collection next Thursday, is it likely that this order will be cancelled?  Do we think the market will be so flooded by then that price will drop?

Multiple accounts, at different addresses across friends and family.  When I was heavily investing, I had at least a few accounts at SAH, TRU, JL, Asda George, Tesco Direct, Smyths etc

Sell now, price is already falling from £1k+, to £6-700.

Price may pickup by xmas, but probability of that very low, as everyone will be getting there online orders next week, this is a classic example like lego polybag freebies that you dump as soon as possible as race to the bottom.

Sell now.  Don't get too greedy in case there is buyer's remorse.  Doesn't matter if you insist on no returns, Buyer can say it was damaged en route and then eBay will side with Buyer.  This is very much like the new UCS MFs that were bought on launch day at Leicester Sq.  They were going for £4k a few days afterwards (best single transaction that I've ever done)  Now, you can pick one up for about £1k. At the moment most buyers will be people who think they can make a quick buck, hence QFLL's as opposed to people who want to Build.  Seriously who's going to drop £1k to build a set?  Don't want to be left without a chair when the music stops!
