42099 - 4x4 X-Treme Off-Roader

Featured Replies

I think I'd actually prefer it without the remote control part of it. If you want a remote control truck, get a real one that's actually capable of doing some serious off-roading. I really like the truck itself though.

Can anyone loosely identify a vehicle model this is based off? Im kind of seeing a hybrid hummer H2 offroader maybe?

I agree with you.  I'm not sure where I'd take this outside to do off-roading.  When I had a home-built off-road RC car, one accidental clip of a wall or rock would usually break a tie-rod.  That would be really annoying if I kept breaking LEGO parts.  Although this might not go as fast but then what would be the point of it?  And at $230 MSRP, I think this is an easy pass until a deep sale.

Maybe, but I think it's just loosely designed on the vehicles you see when you search "rock crawler".
