Sometimes Amazon will sell things for a high list price, only to discount it "heavily", so this is not unheard of. They are trying to catch people off guard and make them want to buy it. For example, see Amazon vs. LEGO Shop at Home:

http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Green-Building-Plate-10/dp/B00000JIVS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361240843&sr=8-1&keywords=lego+baseplate&

http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Large-Green-Baseplate-626

As you can see, LEGO Shop at Home sells it for half the cost that Amazon's full price is, but Amazon's price is discounted down to $7.47 which is 25%.

You just need to be careful, and you probably will not be caught in one of Amazon's clever traps!

Hope this helped,
