Do you get vip points from lego if you use a gift card?

I found a website that has lego gift cards at 5% off but it is only worth buying if it stacks with vip points or else you wont save and you will even lose when there is double points (thanks in advance)

    Yes you still get VIP points when you use a gift card. I just used a 30 dollar gift card and got the full number of points. The gift card doesn't take any points away.
