to my taste, closed.. its "too cubic".. would appreciate a little bit less regular shape.

At first, I was thinking folks will complain about anything.  But after looking at it, I can see your point.  Some extra dimension to the ribbons or even the box lid would have been cool and frankly not hard to do.  

Overall, though, it's a nice giveaway.
