Anyway to tell which Kanan Jarrus you have?

Featured Replies

So I was just wondering if I had the rare Kanan Jarrus from the Ghost set.  Is there anyway to tell which one you have without opening the set?

The rare Kanan Jarrus minifigure has black hair and you may able tell from the seal codes on the box  If the seal codes are from an early production run, you likely have the rare version of the minifigure.

From Brickipedia:

Kanan has a hairpiece which is the appears to be a new mould. He has an olive green torso which is printed to depict a green shirt and a dark shoulder armour. He also has grey legs with a holster printed on. He wields a blue lightsaber And a medium blaster rifle.

Although Kanan has brown hair in the Star Wars Rebels series, the minifigure version was released worldwide with black hair. A few months after release, Kanan was re-released with brown hair. Parts were available on the LEGO.com site for replacements.

Any idea how to find out what would be considered early seal codes?

The Ghost set was released July 2014.  Here is how to read the seal codes: https://bricks.stackexchange.com/questions/7014/what-does-the-4-digit-number-embossed-on-my-lego-set-represent.  Kudos to Phil B for answering this question on the included web site link!

If your set has a seal code close to July 2014 you very likely have the rare minifigure.

Mine was 34R4 so second week in August?  I wonder if that is close enough.

I sold this set a few months ago ... got a small premium based on the possibility of a black-haired Kanan... probably should have opened it, but I don't like parting out classic retired sets... it hurts my heart.

So it came out in June?  I wonder if my 34 made the cutoff.

So, I acquired a set with a code that read "28R4". I decided to open the outer seal to verify, and apparently this was NOT early enough to contain the rare Kanan. Perhaps Lego corrected this faster than people thought?

Dont expect that one labelled "34R4" will contain the rare version!!

Recently bought two sealed ghosts with seal code 12R4, I'm guessing they will have the rare Kanan?

I picked up a sealed 12R4 today....very curious to know if this one will contain the rare Kanan. Have you opened either of yours?

I have not, can't be 100% sure but I assume they include the rare version. The 12R4 sets should be some of the first produced.

Did a bit more digging and found an unboxing video with seal code 15S4. It included the rare kanan so ours should too.

Review showing rare Kanan

Nice, thanks for the info. I bought this set for a personal build to replace the one I sold off last year. Fingers crossed it has the rare Kanan....honestly, I'll most likley just sell him off for a quick buck.
