And I've already come across one preorder on ebay offering the police officer at $50 OBO.  I think the idea of the series is that it's a birthday party for the policeman.  I guess he's the minifigure turning 40?

That is a really interesting take on it....because the policeman is pretty out of place in this series IMHO

Agreed.  I think I read that explanation somewhere in the recent Toy Fair coverage.

I like this series a lot and how it looks.  But...I might just wait for it to go on clearance or prices to drop on eBay for the box. Tempting to jump in and invest...

What I did for the batman figs was buy blind packs from Ebay.  I average $2.5 per pack.  Had some issues completing a couple sets but I just trade for the ones I need.  Probably will do this for this series unless I can get a box for a good price.  Buying a box and not getting the police fig is a deal breaker.

You get the police fig in a sealed box from minifigs Plus. Just not if you only buy a single set

Yes, I think you are guaranteed a police minifigure, one per case assortment.

Any other good spots to get a case for a decent discount?  Has anyone had success with Indigo?  I remember ordering 60 packs back in the day and getting a box.

eBay has a 15% discount right now (at least for US and I think Canada). I pulled the trigger on a box.

I thought about doing that too but it basically brings it back down to the original offer.

Close. A little less. $203/box. plus I'll get 1% ($2) back in eBay bucks plus 1% back from my credit card.

$203/box is a good deal for me. This is a great box and will be using it for my kids bday party as cake decorations and favors

Went to Walmart this AM and found a sealed box on top of the shelves. I’ll update when I figure out if they’ll let me buy.

It was too much of a hassle. They couldn’t figure it out then tried to charge me 7$ bc that was what they found on the internet

It wasn’t in the system, even when going through the central database system. Then they found it from a third party online and tried to charge me 6.95. Then I tried to get them to sell for 1/2 price. It was a huge waste of time. 5 people involved and no one with knowledge or authority to do anything.

I was attempting to keep the box sealed, and was also trying to get to work. Hindsight is 20/20....

I've seen them on pegs at the major drug stores as well, and some grocery stores.

20 people waiting in front of the Lego store to smoosh the minifigure packs......that’s why I was curious. Ain’t nobody got time for smooshing!

Surprisingly, I’ve yet to see these in the wild in SoCal. Usually they’re out a week or two before. I haven’t been to LEGOLAND California though, they might be out there. But they will no doubt be $4.99.
